Title: Random Trivia Contest
Joan - May 2, 2005 05:17 AM (GMT)
The title pretty much says it all. I'll be asking questions about random things. First, here are the rules:
1. Only the first person to answer the question correctly gets the point. If someone has already posted what you were going to say, do not post it again because that is spamming.
2. I will not accept your answer if your post has been edited, so make sure you get your answer right the first time.
3. Each person can guess only once per question unless I give you permission to guess again.
And now, what you really want to know about: the prizes!
1st - :shinychansey: Shiny Chansey
2nd - :swablu: Swablu
3rd - :qwilfish: Qwilfish
There will be 30 questions. Some might be easy and some might not. The questions could be about any topic.
1. What is the only food that does not spoil?
Silverstream - May 2, 2005 05:20 AM (GMT)
Joan - May 2, 2005 06:15 AM (GMT)
 Correct! That question didn't last nearly as long as I expected, but oh well. According to my source, honey is the only food that does not spoil. Honey found in the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs has been tasted by archaeologists and found to be edible. I don't know about you, but I really don't think I'd want to taste something that old. Anyway...

8. Who invented scissors?
Jcstyla - May 4, 2005 06:36 AM (GMT)
NamelessLoser - May 4, 2005 07:53 AM (GMT)
Leonard Da Vinci
Greengrouden - May 4, 2005 03:03 PM (GMT)
Uh...I think that...there is a lot of disbute about this but the answer I beleive is that they were fist made in ancient Rome, China, Japan and Korea. However, that is not who invented them but where and I think the first person to successfully mass produce them was the Englishman Robert Hinchliffe.
Belle Starlia - May 4, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
The invention of scissors can be traced back to the earliest incarnation - the lever - described by Archemedies in 260 B.C - so there you have it.
Joan - May 5, 2005 04:48 AM (GMT)
Leonardo da Vinci is generally the one who gets the credit for this invention. Yet I did some research and I've found sources who give credit to the ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Archemedes. Since the historians apparently can't decide, I won't try to either. You each get a point since you're each right in some way. (I'll try to stop using such confusing questions... )

10. Why could it be dangerous for someone who is allergic to eggs to get a flu shot?
Belle Starlia - May 5, 2005 09:02 PM (GMT)
Because, believe it or not, eggs are used in the production of the FLu shot.. so.. if you're allergic to eggs, you might have a allergic reaction to the flu shot.
Joan - May 6, 2005 02:48 AM (GMT)
