I just thought I would open a thread since I was having trouble finding one. about what? Gold and silver remakes! I really hope they make one, I think they will, post opinions, hopes, and what you think they might do here! As long as it has what G/S has I'll be happy XD
btw check this out www.pokemonwhitegold.com, it goes straight to nintendo's website!!!!!!!!!
(oh ya I voted yes)

I don't really know one way or another, but I think it would be awesome if they did remake them. Assuming they didn't ruin them. :XD:

YESYESYESYESYES. I was actually talking with Ake about this yesterday. :o I'd buy it the first day. <3 Just as long as they keep those dumb D/P pokemon out of it. :3
Shadow of Regice - July 13, 2008 05:51 AM (GMT)
I think a remake would be good. I haven't played those games yet lol >.<
Hooh251 - July 13, 2008 06:02 AM (GMT)
:o They were by far the best Pokemon games released. Anyone who's played the new ones but not G/S/C doesn't know Pokemon imo. :P

I dont think they can "leave out" the sinnoh pokemon, but maybe they'll make it so you have to trade to get them, or they'll make it so you can get them after you beat the elite four or something, who knows?
Akehoshi - July 14, 2008 01:12 AM (GMT)
I doubt they will, though if they give Typhlosion his punches back, I'll be VERY happy.
TUTOR! NOW!
I'd definitely get it. Especially if they expanded on the plot a bit more as well, like they did with Crystal, and like they're gonna do with Platinum (WOOT!). Like, take it further!
And I wouldn't mind primarily the Pokémon they had in the first games. Though I'd still want to see it as 3rd an 4th gen Pokémon compatible. "I pwn you...with this Pokémon you never saw last time! Mwahahaha!!! I choose you, Sky Shaymin!!!!!!!!! >=D" Er... Yeah. X3 You get my drift. *votes*

Of course you know gaming sites are going to hate Pokemon for this with "Why another remake" junk, but frankly I dont care, its fans opinions that matters anyway
kitsunaii - July 30, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
Mrrr. -too lazy to vote- I want a re-make of them too. I'm currently in the middle of Crystal and just haven't gone farther (started playing LoZ: Oracle of Ages again n.n;). So, feh. And nao..

They won't. If they DID, I'd much rather a nice Wii version. Like, 3-d Models and everything.

Nah they wouldnt make a wii version, its a tradition for the RPGs to be portable (except XD and the sort)

That would be so cool if they made G/S remake, but I seriously doubt that they will...
Pokemon Gold was the first Pokemon game I've ever played... even though the game I played belonged to my big brother and couldn't save data... and was in a Pokemon Silver cartridge with a Pokemon Gold label...

While it is True that Nintendo has the rights for WhiteGold.com or whatever, that doesn't really mean that they are going to make one. They may have just saved it until the idea was in the works or until it gets trashed.
Personally, I love the G/S/C games. They were fun, had a really in-depth plot line, and there was ALOT to do.
Now, since it's not up to my opinion, that last paragraph really doens't matter :/ But I really don't think Nintendo will make one. Will I be happy if they do? Yea! But in my opinion there are too many strong points made against it than there are strong for it.
1. GBA games are probably most certainly dead by now. It's all in the DS. Since the remake games have been on the GBA, this could post a problem of making a DS version of G/S. I think it would end up being a makeover of Diamond and Pearl, with the Pokegear on the bottom screen instead of the ... err.r. whatever it's called XD
2. We already can get all 491(3) pokemon (Trust me, I've done it x3), so why do we need another game that has old ones in it?
I think there are more, but those are the main ones...
ANyway, I think if we DO get one, it'll be for the next handheld for when GBA or w/e games don't work anymore and you'd have to catch them in the G/S remake.
Missingno. - August 8, 2008 06:37 PM (GMT)
On the subject of being able to catch all the Pokemon, ho-oh and lugia are pretty hard to get already and so are the johto starters. thats one good reason
the second reason, is game freak should do what the fans want, they get more money and fans that way, since so many people want a G/S remake, they should make one
(the last parts my opinion of course)
Suppi - August 15, 2008 05:48 AM (GMT)
Instead of making a G/S/C remake,
i think they shouldnt just add it everything that made G/S/C so cool
Like travelling back to a different region, adding in the pokegear back in so you can call trainers. Everything that made those games so fun, just switching it up.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok..._Silver_remakesPersonally, after reading that article and the proof listed for a Generation IV Gold/Silver, I think it's happening. Among the clues listed is that in the D/P code, there is support for Johto locations on the Pokemon info/Pokedex. That sold it for me. ;) Also there are rumours that Nintendo has registered the trademarks DuskGold and DawnSilver, referencing the two towers in Ecruteak City. However it's just a rumour and may not have happened at all. Although I do find it funny that Nintendo owns the trademark for Pokemon WhiteGold. It's an old one that apparently was trademarked back in 2003. :sweatdrop:
Wynn - October 21, 2008 08:34 AM (GMT)
There's to much evidence for there not to be a new one. However the unused trademarks were bought in 2003 (WhiteGold, Moonstone, Amethyst ectect) It is possible they could be used for future games and the inevitable gen5. As with Platinum I thought that the name would be Topaz because that has be trademarked however I was wrong. The simple truth is there WILL be a genII remake and for now we can only for certain refer to this pair as "GSDS" (GoldSilverDS) just as the original was referred to as "GS" (Gold/Silver, which were made for the Gameboy Color model hinting that G/S remakes may dump the time machine feature ((or build upon it)) as just as GenII came out with a new model ((gameboy color)) and the genI remake was released with a new model ((SP)))
