I stared up at the stars above me, twinkling happily like fresh snow in the sun. I sighed, stepping back a bit from my home’s balcony to lean against the wall, still staring upwards. Tomorrow I left my home in Inari Town for what they called my “Pokémon journey”. TC, why couldn’t you come…?
My thoughts flickered in that direction. TC had been my best friend forever. That wasn’t his real name of course, it was just his nickname because… well see, I can’t even remember, it’s been that long.
At what was considered an old age for a Pokémon journey, 15, I had decided I needed to get out more. And what better way to get out than to travel across an entire continent filled with evil gangs and monsters that breathed fire and shot sharp, pointy things at you, with absolutely no parental guidance?
…Hmm, something seemed inherently wrong with that.
Well, TC has decided it wasn’t for him. And now I was leaving him behind.
Seeing my digital clock flashing 12:42 next to my bed, I decided to get some sleep. Tomorrow was a big day after all. I crawled under the covers and fell asleep almost instantly.
Morning arrived quickly. I dressed, put on my official PokéBelt™ and PokéPack™ and walked outside of my PokéHouse™—Okay, I got a little carried away there. Nonetheless, I walked through the bright town, and past the colourful houses towards the outskirts of town. The wind ruffled through my shortly cut and slightly spiky dirty blond hair, my blue eyes taking in the surroundings I’d known for 15 years.
“Wait Ryan!” As I was leaving town a voice behind me called. Turning, I saw who I recognized as Professor Miranda running after me at breakneck speed, carrying a small bag. Confused, I stood around as she ran to me and bent over double, panting to catch her breath. “You forgot… your Pokémon…” she breathed.
“Already got that covered,” I replied, holding up 6 pokéballs.
“What?” She looked taken aback. “Where did you get those?”
“PokéBay.” I replied simply, turning around and walking into the Kaolin Mountains.
(Need a copy/paste of my old profile here. Joan said I could. :P)
