Valkrie T. Byrd, Valk for short, has just woken up and was ready for a brand new day. After getting dressed and saying goodbye to Mother, he was ready for another day of school. He listens to his radio on the way to school every day, and half-way to school, his radio announced that school in his region had been canceled.

Baffled upon why they hadn't announced this sooner, he was almost sure his mother hadn't known, so he began exploring.

After a while, he came across this strange building with a large pokeball, only on a Green and White color scheme, on it's roof. He entered and the clerk said, "Welcome to Prof. Melinda's Lab!". He had heard of this place from his friends and learned that Prof. Melinda gave out pokemon to starting adventurers.

So, considering the starting age for raising Pokemon was 14, or so he'd heard, and he was only a day away from turning that age, he thought a few hours wouldn't matter.

He asked when Melinda was available, and the clerk said that she was available at the moment, but had some bad news.

When he had entered Melinda's Lab, he was dumbfounded by the beauty of the architecture, and decided that he would finally ask Melinda for a pokemon. Melinda was very disappointed, however, because all she had to give Valkrie was a Totodile she found about a month back at a nearby river.

Valkrie was ecstatic, however. Totodile was his favorite pokemon. Though common, the mystery of their personalities had him lost for words, OR actions, and he never thought he'd get one. Valkrie took one look at the pokemon and said, "I'll take it!".
