Well, whenever I go to a Java site, my browser closes out without warning. That includes RuneScape, the Chatroom, and such. An update pop-up for Java hasn't come up, but is that the problem? It's been happening for a while.

Download it? Or if that EXTREMELY good idea desn't work, ask the Java FAQ, I'm not a Java wizard, considering i'm 12.
