Title: Ophir147's Profile
Description: Why not?

Ophir147 - May 28, 2008 10:16 PM (GMT)
Craig lay on the forest floor, looking up at the aperture of the forest. He saw various birds and bird type pokemon flitting around the surface, twittering as they tend to do. Craig smirked impassively, and looked at his digital wristwatch and saw the time was 5:52 AM. He grunted and stepped to his feet.

He walked on a rough path created by roaming herds of stantler. A distant light slowly turned into a patch of bramble which laced across an image ofa small house. Bags of trash piled upon the back steps, attracting flies and making a broken back door unreachable. The walls were lousy with peeling paint chips and corners were infested with spiders.

Craig stepped around the bramble and silently stepped on the fallen leaves with an uncommon stealth. He walked to the front door and opened a mesh door. Another door used to be there, but it was knocked down by the man that he saw in a recliner, sleeping happily. It was his father, Joel; Craig had left the house the prior night so as to not be caught in the crossfire of one of the bastard's drunken rages.

He padded to the other side of the room, towards a ragged pack. Craig froze whe he heard Joel mumble in his drunken dreams, and stood there for around 3 minutes until he was sure his father wasn't waking up. He ran for the bag, grabbed it, and bolted out of the door.

Looking at his wristwatch, he saw the time was 6:13. Perfect. He walked away from his house towards the middle of town, and Melinda's lab. He saw it, a plain building that didn't stand out from the others. He was facing the back door, and although she was not open at this hour, she always keeps the backdoor unlocked. He walked in, and saw a young woman bent over a pile of books.

"Hello," Craig said, which caused the professor to almost jump in surprise.
"Oh my god," she gasped. "You nearly scared me to death!"
"Sorry, I guess I forget how quiet I am sometimes," said Craig, not giving any actual indication that he was sorry.
"Well, what do you need?" asked the professor.
"I'm here to get a starter pokemon." The professor looked at him blankly. "What?" asked Craig.
"I'm sorry, but what are you, 14? Usually people come when they turn ten, on the day; we don't have many young men come here..."
"What, do I scare you?" said Craig. The professor bit her lip.
There was a few moments of awkward silence, and then the professor turned to a table with several small pokeballs on it.
"Er... Well, choose one." stuttered Miranda. Craig already knew the one that he was going to choose. He saw one with a manager-style nameplate that had the word "Gastly" on it. He grabbed it, and threw it to his left hand experimentally.
"Thanks," smiled Craig. He walked toward the backdoor, and just before he left, he heard Miranda mumble, "This job gets weirder and weirder..."

(EDIT: Added some blank lines for those who want to use this for future reference :D)

[Nice post. However, next time, could you please put blank lines between paragraphs? It's easier to read that way. Thanks in advance!]
