Title: Awkward Meetings
Shrimp - April 29, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
"Hmmm..."
Walking down the route, the female ocassionally tossed a Poke'Ball up and down in her hand while in thought. The sphere contained a male Turtwig inside, her starter Pokemon, who she had decided to name Bonzai. Not that the Pokemon knew of anything so far.
"I wonder if this bouncing causes anything in there for you... Come on out."
In a flash of red the Turtwig was now on the road, shaking his head lightly before looking around. This was not the Lab... So...
"Oi, over here. Turn around, Bonzai."
The Turtwig did so, blinking up as he gazed at the odd human infront of him. She seemed human... But her scent also indicated Pokemon. This was mostly intriguing.
~Trainer?~
"Yup, Ciara's the name. And you are Bonzai."
~Boooooooonzaiiii...~
Calmly the Pokemon let the syllabels roll on his tongue, though to any passing trainer it would have sounded as a bunch of "Tuuuurtwiiiiig..." He seemed pleased with the name, giving a content nod -- though by then he noticed his trainer missing from her curent spot, and further down the road.
"Come on, Bonzai, don't stay too far behind."
He quickly rushed, catching up with the Persian'Morph befor ethe grass Pokemon blinked, confused. This was quite the interesting mistress he had gotten for a trainer...
Kazokumaru - April 30, 2008 01:36 AM (GMT)
Whilst travelling down the road, a rustling in the bushes catches your attention. Upon further investigation, you discover it to be simply an Acorn falling from the tree. As you begin to rise, an Acorn hits you on the head! The source? A Pachrisu on a branch above you! It lets out a snicker and darts to the bottom of the tree.
Shrimp - April 30, 2008 01:40 AM (GMT)
"What the... Eh, a Pachirisu... Mmm."
The Persian'Morph glared up at the tree, watching the electrical rodent for a few moments as she was lost in thought. She liked them, enough to attempt its capture. Besides, her PokeDex could use being filled up. Searching in her bag she got out one of her Poke'Balls, readying herself for the capture time. But first she needed to weaken the rat.
"Alright Bonzai, show me what you've got. Let's start with a Withdraw to up your defense, then follow it up with a Razor Leaf. We might as well get this little one off the tree and on even grounds."
The Turtwig simply nodded, hiding in his shell to raise his defense, before a flurry of leaves were shot in the direction of the white and blue Pokemon.
Caffeinated Doom - April 30, 2008 02:36 AM (GMT)
Turtwig plays hide and seek in its shell! :D Pachirisu finds it, though, and tags it with a spark. Not very effective, though - try again, Sparky! Turtwig makes a good argument to the electric squirrel to leaf it alone! That's some razor sharp wit it's got there!
Shrimp - April 30, 2008 03:59 AM (GMT)
[I absolutely love your style, Caffe. XDD]
Amusing, the rodent seemed to think this was a hide-and-seek game... Which was convenient for Ciara. Smirking the Persian'Morph ordered her Turtwig to hide in his shell again, raising his defense further, before watching the electricity surge through him. The attack didn't do too much, though, to her relief.
"Ok, Bonzai, Razor Leaf."
Another shower of leaves was sent in the Pachirisu's way -- though it seemed Bonzai was rather enjoying this battle as well.
Caffeinated Doom - April 30, 2008 05:47 AM (GMT)
[Thanks! I like your style, too. Mine is just a consequence of my utter inability to take anything seriously. :XD:]
What, now, the same two attacks again? That's cheap! How am I supposed to come up with something interesting this time?
Oh, I know! Turtwig roots around in its shell a little bit before pulling out a crayon and a piece of paper. You watch perplexed as the little grassy turtle...thing draws. It all clicks when it holds up its masterpiece: a beautiful calligraphy "With." Although how this raises its defenses no one will ever know!
Pachirisu blinks at Turtwig, looking melancholy at best. It hiccups once, twice, and starts to sob. Turtwig rushes over to see what's the matter.
...That's what we in the business call "gullibility," kiddo. Because as sure as the background on this site's a dark gray, those tears are fake. Bye bye, special defense.
Turtwig starts shaving Pachirisu. Wrong kind of razor, but oh well. At least the squirrel's getting its leafy greens?
Shrimp - April 30, 2008 08:31 PM (GMT)
Well, at least she knew now that her Turtwig could spell. Ciara watched the Pachirisu begin to cry, but she wasn't fooled by the act. The Persian'Morph had seen Fake Tears enough times in the Breeding Barn the old lady that raised her looked after. Sadly, her Turtwig was already trying to comfort the rat before she could prevent it. Well, there went some of the turtle's special defense.
"Razor Leaf, again. Then try to Tackle it while the leaves are still going for it. I want to wrap this one up soon, but don't faint it."
Dark - April 30, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
The sharp leaves strike the cute thingie, leaving it in REAL tears, but who gives a dang? Ahem, anyways, Bonsai rammed into the squirrel, who then used the momentem of the strike to zap Bonsai. Pretty good damage, considering it was a crit hit. Your turn!
Shrimp - May 1, 2008 12:15 AM (GMT)
Ciara was glad that Grass types were so resistant to electrical attacks, though even then that last hit hurt pretty much.
"Alright Bonzai, aim a Leech Seed at it -- then use Synthesis, you need to re over some of tha HP back."
The Persian'Morph watched, silently awaiting to see how things would go -- hopefully the Leech Seed would weaken the Pachirisu enough for capture, but not faint it. After all, it was already crying [this time for real] so maybe it would give up when she threw the PokeBall? Ciara hoped so. The sphere in her hand, she gripped it tight, awaiting for the right moment to toss it.
Dark - May 1, 2008 10:40 PM (GMT)
Or WERE they real tears? :XD: Special defense goes down. The seeds, although there were many, all of them were countered by a spark. The healing worked though, but it only healed a bit, considering the fake tears thing used spark.
Shrimp - May 2, 2008 12:03 AM (GMT)
"That's it. Synthesis, then Razor Leaf!"
The Pesian'Morph was beginning to get ticked with this rodent and its fake tears, and her voice held the small tell-tale signs of her patience running thing. Bonzai did as he was told, surrounded in green light as he absorbed sun rays, transforming their energy to more HP. No sooner that was done, another shower of razor sharp leaves was shot in the Pachirisu's direction. Ciara only waited enough to see if they did impact on their target or not, before the female threw the red and white sphere with all her might -- aimed at the blue and white rodent. That Pachirisu would be hers.
Dark - May 2, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
Bonsai was, too, mad at the Pachirisu for being a twerp, so the Razor Leaf was a crit and a direct hit! NOW it's crying REAL tears. It looks extremely weak, too...
Shrimp - May 2, 2008 12:37 AM (GMT)
((I tossed a Poke'Ball as well in my last post. XD))
Dark - May 2, 2008 12:40 AM (GMT)
 I knew that.
The poke ball hit the Squrrill, and a blast of red energy came out of it. beep, beep, beep, the female Pachirisu is caught! Nickname?
Shrimp - May 2, 2008 02:28 AM (GMT)
"Annoying ball of fur and sparks..."
The female sighed, grasping the PokeBall in her hands before tossing it lightly. In a flash of red the squirrel-like electrical Pokemon was out, blinking before faking tears once more. Apprently, she still thought this was a battle.
"Knock those fake tears off already, I already caught you. Mmm... Let's see, a name... How about, Sparkles? Yes, that sounds alright."
~Sparkles?~
"Yes, Sparkles. Now come on, let's keep on training... And you might be able to use this."
Taking out a Potion the female made sure to spray it evenly on the Pachirisu, restoring some good amount of HP, before continuing on. With luck, she would be able to level up this guys a good amount before heading off to search for those rumored altars. Maybe one of those was around here?
She could only hope so. Legends were fun to decipher, but nothing was better as actually seeing something with your own eyes that was mentioned in myths and believed not to exist. It was a thrill worthy to remember.
Caffeinated Doom - May 2, 2008 03:00 AM (GMT)
As you and your Pokemon traverse the Way, you start feeling sleepy. Visions of sugar cherries dance through your head...wait, what? Okay, so there is a dancing cherry, but it's not in your head! A little Cherrim is frolicking about, blowing on its grasswhistle...so that's why you're sleepy!
Shrimp - May 2, 2008 03:48 AM (GMT)
So sleepy... Oh, a dancing cherry, how delciou- Wait, what? Blinking the Persian'Morph pinned her ears backwards, realizing this critter was the source that almost made her fall asleep. Well, it wouldn't keep whistling for long, that was for sure.
"Bonzai, Tackle it. If it starts singing, do a Razor Leaf to shut it up."
Caffeinated Doom - May 2, 2008 06:50 AM (GMT)
Turtwig attackles the Cherrim, who looks a lot less cute when she glares at Bonzai for interrupting her groove. The cherry Pokemon lets out a grassy whistle, and before Bonzai can leaf it all to Cherrim, it dozes off. :pikasleep:
Shrimp - May 2, 2008 07:39 AM (GMT)
Crap, this was NOT what she had wanted. Bitting her lower lip lightly as she thought for a few moments the female placed her options in a mental balance meter -- trying to find the one she liked most. She could wait for Bonzai to wake up, though who knows when would that be, or switch to her recently caught Pachirisu.
Taking out her PokeDex the female surfed through a variety of moves the little annoying rodent could do, before coming up with a rather amusing idea. She wasn't sure if it would fully work, though.
Still, it was better than waiting for that turtle to wake up.
"Bonzai, get your shell-covered snoozing self back in the Poke'Ball. Sparkles, get out here."
In a flash of red colors the Turtwig was back in his Poke'Ball, and the rodent was out. She blinked, looking about her surroundings before spotting the Cherubi. The Pachirisu was about to start the old routine of Fake Tears and attacks, but luckily Ciara prevented it.
"Sparkles, don't even think about that. Now, I want you to use a Thunderwave, and then quickly after an U-Turn. Get it?"
The nod wasn't fully assuring, but the 'Morph hoped it was enough to be a positive outcome. She watched the weak but paralyzing jolt head for the Cherubi, though it was mainly a distraction for the second move. Charging forwards the Pachirisu aimed to collide with the other, before making an u-turn[much like the name suggested] and returning back to her Poke'Ball.
Event that brought back out the sleeping Turtwig.
Ciara sighed, watching to see if the plan was effective. If it had gone well, the Cherubi would be paralyzed, though she really didn't care much about that. She cared about the U-Turn and its effectiveness. According to her PokeDex, it was a Bug Type move, so it should be supper effective. Cherubi was a Grass type, right?
The Persian'Morph desperately hoped so, otherwise all this planning had been for nothing.
Dark - May 2, 2008 08:31 PM (GMT)
Hehe...The thunderwave didn't work. The fake tears and the real tears mixed and the thunderwave instead hit a Mankey, who is real mad at Sparkles for stunned him and running away. The cherry and monkey decided to team up for a common cause. Turtwig, got hit by Tackle and yet another tackle.
Shrimp - May 3, 2008 02:27 AM (GMT)
Crap, this wasn't good -- and Ciara didn't even knew if the U-Turn had hit the Cherubi or not. "Sparkles, back out you go" In a flash the Pachirisu was out again, and this tme Ciara did allow her to use her Fake Tears attack -- she might as well lower the Special Defense of both the Mankey and the Cherubi.
And the Turtwig still slept...
Searching the PokeDex she came up with a new combination for her Pachirisu, the rodent would have to hold them off long enough for the Turtwig to wake up and attack.
"Alright Sparkles, listen up and listen good. I want you to use Rain Dance. Then I want you to aim a good Spark at the Mankey."
If all worked well the foes would be drenched in rain, which would make the electrical attack much more stronger than usual -- along with the small boost of the Fake Tears.
Caffeinated Doom - May 3, 2008 05:37 AM (GMT)
Pachirisu lets the tears flow. Sheesh, does it have a faucet in its eyes somewhere? It can't use them on both Pokemon, though, so it targets Mankey. Crytastic! Next, as if the tears weren't enough precipitation, it starts to rain. Pachirisu's da-ancing in the rain! It gets a little confused when it comes time to Spark, though...looks like that was too many orders to process at one time.

PSS. I don't hate you or anything, i'm just in a funny mood. :P

Shrimp - May 4, 2008 05:42 PM (GMT)
Ah well, two out of three wasn't bad at all. An the opponents seemed to forget to attack, so Ciara took this chance. "Sparkles, I want you to use Fake Tears on the Cherubi now -- then use Spark on the Mankey." Pretty simple orders, the 'Morph hoped her little crying squirrel would do it right. Her attention then turned to the Turtwig.
He still slept, apparently.
"Bonzai, you have better wake up soon and do a Razor Leaf..." Her voice held the faint tints of anger and, though she would never harm her Pokemon, an angered Persian'Morph could still not be a good thing... Right?
[It's ok Dark, I don't hate you. XDD]
Dark - May 4, 2008 05:46 PM (GMT)
All right, let's get started with teh typing, hmm?
Sparkles used Fake Tears on Cherubi. I don't understand how tears can be an attack, but... Spec. def down.
Sparkles then used Spark on the mankey, a crit hit for you! Both of your opponments still look pretty strong. Both of them used tackle on Turtwig, who STILL hasn't woke up yet.
Shrimp - May 4, 2008 05:58 PM (GMT)
"Ok, never mind Razor leaf -- you better wake up soon and do a Synthesis, Bonzai!"
As the Tackles came again the female could only cringe and shake her head, before looking at her Pachirisu. Mmm... Maybe it could attack them both? "Sparkles, I want you to Spark the Mankey again, then the Cherubi. Think you can do it?" She hoped the squirrel could, otherwise her and Bonzai would be wild Pokemon food soon. And the rain still fell, so thank you rain for the boost to lightning.
Dark - May 4, 2008 06:15 PM (GMT)
[Random princiness] You are my only hope Bonsai...
[Bonsai] You're ugly.
[Bonsai] *slapped*
Bonsai waked up! He was healed and he flung razor sharp leaves at the two pokeman. Mankey is very, very weak now. so is Cherubi. A small bit of lightning hit Mankey and Cherubi! Now both of them have 1 hp left.
Shrimp - May 4, 2008 06:21 PM (GMT)
Catch. Kill. Catch. Kill. Catch... Kill.
The female smirked, both pokemons looked weak -- and she had no real desire to catch them. Besides, they had been quite an annoyance and her Pokemons could use the levels.
"Bonzai, finish it with a Razor Leaf. Sparkles, on your toes. Spark anything that moves if the leaves miss."
Caffeinated Doom - May 4, 2008 11:35 PM (GMT)
Turtwig leafs through the Pokemon's pockets, but it doesn't find any spare change, so it just slashes them with a razor. Yeah...might have a few psychotic tendencies there. O_o Anyway, that's a double K.O.! Both Turtwig and Pachirisu gain a level.
You hear clapping and turn around. A random trainer was watching you...stalker! O_o "Very nice, little girl." He grins...very creepy. "I've been watching you." So he is a stalker! "You handle yourself well for a n00b, but can you win a trainer battle?"
Well, beating a stalker into the ground has to have its rewards.
"But...you aren't strong enough to beat me yet."
Oh no he di-idn't!
"So I'll have this random conveniently placed swimmer fight you!"
"Um, hi!" the swimmer squeaks.
That bastard! He knows swimmers pay the least money in every Pokemon game! :XD:
Oh well. Might as well get this over with. Maybe if you win, the jerk will fight someone his own size...wait, what? You aren't even the same size! Oh well.
Shrimp - May 5, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
"Excuse me? Who do you think you ar- What?"
The 'Morph arched an eyebrow, glaring at this new Stalker before looking at the Swimmer with a look of digust. Very well, she'd make him cream first, and then deal with that arrogant stalker. After all, free experience was always fun.
"Bonzai, Sparkles, as soon as his Pokemons are out I want Razor Leaf and Sparks on both of 'em. Got it?"
Yes, Ciara had just decided this was a double battle. Period.
[How do Pokemons gain levels here? XD]
Caffeinated Doom - May 5, 2008 06:49 AM (GMT)
[By knocking out other Pokemon in battle. :XD:]
The swimmer blinked at the "his" pronoun, then glanced at her chest. Yup...she was pretty sure she was still female, right? God...now she was confused. Never a good thing. "I don't know....would I still be wearing this bikini top if I was a boy?"
Her Tentacool blinked up at her blearily, looking like it had just been napping in its Pokeball, while her Mudkip danced around.
"Er...well, I suppose I would."
Okay then.... O_o
Razor Leaf was fairly ineffective on Tentacool and super effective on Mudkip, whereas Spark was very useful on Tentacool and didn't even daze Mudkip. Oh well...must even out in the end.
Shrimp - May 5, 2008 11:53 PM (GMT)
[Duh. XD But every what amount of Pokemons do their levels rise. Like, do I have to faint many Pokemons for them to raise one level, or with every one? o.O]
Er... Well, she hadn't really took much time to analyze the appearance, or gender, of her Swimmer opponent. Though Ciara knew one thing, this girl was an oddball...
"Right... Of course you would still wear that bikini if you were a boy..."
And, while her Pokemons performed their attacks, it seemed the female forgot to send her own to do the same thing -- ah well, another extra turn for her.
"Bonzai, Razor Leaf again -- Sparkles, keep up the Sparks on them both."
This would be a piece of cake...
And then she could trash that stalker to the ground.
Dark - May 6, 2008 12:00 AM (GMT)
The stalker grinned stupidly as the Tentacool and Mudkip get hit with razor leaf and spark, same effects as before. "Tentacool, use toxic, and Mudkip, use mud slap!" , said the Shemale swimmer. They both hit Turtwig (everyone seems to have a grudge on your Turtwig  )
Shrimp - May 6, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
Well... Turtwig was a Grass Type, so surely he could hold on with the Poison for a little while. Bah, he knew Synthesis anyway. There had to be something else he knew that would heal him from that.
"Sparkles, use Fake Tears on the Tentacool and then Spark it. And Bonzai... Do Razor Leaf and then..."
Quickly scrolling through the PokeDex she rummaged around the moves her little starter could know. Crap, no move that would heal him.
"Er... DO a Mega Drain on the Mudkip. Might as well keep getting health back."
Hrm... She did had the Type advantages, so surely this would be over soon.
Joan - May 6, 2008 04:17 AM (GMT)
((OOC: Typically at least one level is gained by beating a wild Pokemon, at least 2 for a trainer Pokemon. I am too lazy to keep track of partial levels. :XD: ))
Tentacool's tentacles reached for Turtwig, but the sudden jolt of electricity combined with lowered special defense stopped it in its tracks. Not that a Tentacool would have tracks since it lives in water... what's it doing in Willow Way anyway? But the point is Tentacool fainted. Bonzai and Sparkles each gained two levels!
Mudkip was barely clinging to life with the few HP it had left after mega drain... that is, until it ate the berry it was holding. Yum! It didn't restore a lot of HP, but enough to keep Mudkip in the game another round. Mudkip used Dig. It began to burrow and quickly disappeared into the ground. Well, that's one way to survive an extra turn.
Shrimp - May 6, 2008 04:36 AM (GMT)
[Okay,just wanted to know. :3]
"Score! That was great team work, you tw- [censored]..."
The female groaned, watching the Mudkip hide underground, before quickly flickering through her PokeDex. There had to be something that could hit it before it came back up -- otherwise her Pachirisu was in trouble. She was sure of it.
"Er... Sparkles, you'll be using Protect and Bonzai..."
Well, that should keep her alive...
"Bonzai, you use... Erm... Argh! Oh, there! Bonzai, use Endure! Then, once the Mudkip is out, Mega Drain again!"
There we go, Ciara sighed in relief, looking at the pink colored PokeDex in her hands. Hmm... This really was a nifty thing, and pretty helpful. Yes, she would be studying her Pokemons' moves from now on. Who would have thought they could have such creative combinations of surviving. Still, even if the Endure failed, Ciara was sure the Turtwig had enough HP to go around -- he had suck the Mudkip almost to the point of fainting.
"Ok guys, listen up! Sparkles, Protect now! Bonzai, Endure! And get ready, as soon as the Mudkip's out, you use Mega Drain!"
A summary of orders, just to make sure her Pokemon didn't got confused through her mumbling.
[Also, apparently, the Buizel in my Profile got the two levels of beating the Tentacool... It wasn;t the Buizel the one fighting, it was the Pachirisu. XDD
If someone could please fix that? :3 I have the correct levels in my siggy.]
Caffeinated Doom - May 6, 2008 04:06 PM (GMT)
The Mudkip, who emerges from the earth a much dirtier Pokemon than it was before, doesn't dig Sparkles' and Bonzai's efforts to shield themselves.
...please don't hurt me.
Turtwig waddles up to the filthy Pokemon, who's muttering filthy language in Pokemonese, and tries to steal its Legos - it needs more black pieces if it's ever going to complete its Lego deathray - but Mudkip is fresh out of Legos, so it has to drain its Mega Blocks instead.
...Now you may hurt me. Well. After I update the levels.
"Very impressive," Mr. Stalker murmured as the gender-confused swimmer sulkily stalks away, 47 G poorer. "I confess that I didn't think you'd be able to win."
Ouch. Ouch. It's really on now.
He smirks, tilting his head a little. Due to gravity, his floppy hat slips a little, and he immediately raises his left hand to correct it. He wears a suit, a tie, and a single glove on his right hand. Peculiar. Then again, his very nature appears to be definable as "peculiar," so it appears slightly less bizarre in context. "You still aren't nearly strong enough for the shrine, though, let alone me. Hmm, hmm." He tilts his head further, hat slipping, hand correcting. "I have a thought. Your mission, if you choose to accept it," he purses his lips for a second, then says, "is to visit Happy's Dairy and help Seņor Happy. I believe he's been having some issues that you can take care of for him. It's not much of a detour...just follow that side road until you see the old church, then turn left. You will be rewarded greatly."
"With what?"
"That would kill the surprise, would it not? Anyway, I must depart. The tacos are calling to me."
"The what?"
"The tacos. That you eat. They are tasty and filling."
"But if you're not here, how will you know if I do it?"
"I'll know. Believe me, I'll know." His eyes twinkle. Freaky unnatural eyes...
And with that, he disappears in a poof of technicolor sparks.
That...was really bizarre.
To go or not to go? That is the question. :XD:
Shrimp - May 6, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
Well, this was all really, really, bizarre. "Happy's Dairy eh... Sounds like we'll be dealing with Miltanks." The female sighed, rolling the nae of Seņor Happy around her mind for a bit. Probably some old farmer... She didn't really had much hope for the reward -- what with the crappy swimmer and her paying and all -- but the 'Morph had to agree curiosity was getting her.
"Curiosity did killed the cat... But we do have nine lives. Come on you two, let's pay a visit to this Happy guy."
The Turtwig and Pachirisu tilted their heads, the rodent jumping on her shoulder for a free ride, while the Turtle waddled along behind. After a few moments he was picked up by Ciara, carried around in her arms now. Let's face it, Bonzai wasn't that fast when it came to walking, much less long distances. After a good amount of walking through the specified road, the female came across the Church.
"It was a left... Right?"
Her Pokemon weren't much help, neither had been paying attention to the Stalker and his speech. Still, the female went left.
"That place better pop up soon..."

[It is not that I want Doom only, I just don't like extremely insane and un-logical randomness out of nowhere -- like falling from random cliffs and becoming a professional I don't know what out of the blue. Or not having all the details of what is attacking me being present until two posts after.]
