(Not sure if I should be doing this...tell me if I'm doing wrong)

Katai looked around the altar a bit unsure. She felt a bit uncomfortable, not really knowing what to do at all.

"Um, I have to battle, right? I guess I'll be using Kei."

Kei's eyes widened and she looked at Katai. She smiled softly, something very un-Katai like.

"I know you can do this. You totally swept the floor with that Caterpie and you did an excellent job against Kusa. Make me proud."

Kei nodded and slowly stepped forward, ready for whatever may come her way.

Solana smiled soothingly at Kei. "How nice. A Paras. They are such gentle creatures with such potential." She floated there for a moment. "To battle this splendid Pokémon, I choose a Cherubi." She opened her eyes, still smiling. "You may have the first move."

"Cool, a Cherubi. Kei, ya ready?" She nodded slowly, "Okay then. Let's start this battle off with a Double Team. Follow it up with a Bulllet Seed, Kei!!!"

Okay now, let's see how well Kei has improved since their first meeting.

Kei suddenly spread out in a circle around the spirit Cherubi in the form of hundreds of Parases. She then proceeded to fire rapid flying seeds from every direction, striking Cherubi multiple times. Cherubi grimaced in pain and struggled to regain her composure after the attack ended.

"You are doing very well," Solana said gently, "however this battle shalln't be ended so quickly." She pondered for a moment. She then spoke again, this time even more softly. "Cherubi, use a Growth attack and then follow it up with a Leech Seed. We must replinish your health."

"Cherubi!" Cherubi said, concentrating. She suddenly grew to double her size. She then shot a seed of her own, planting it on Kei. It slowly began sapping Kei's energy and replinishing her own.

Katai bit her lip.

'This isn't too good... Every turn Kei loses energy because of Leech Seed. I have to try and end this battle as quickly as possible.'

Katai thought very hard about what turn Kei should use next. So many attacks...and this has to end as soon as possible... Maybe...

"Kei, can you use Aerial Ace? Can you follow it up with an X-scissor attack?"

Yeah, those are Paras attacks, but can Kei pull it off? All she can do now is believe that she can.

Kei's arms began to glow bright white and he launched up into the air. She then came down right on top of Cherubi, slashing into her with her glowing claw. Cherubi fell over, nearly crying in pain. Kei's arms then stopped glowing.

"Paaaarassssssss!" Kei said, bringing her claws up. She then sliced down with them making an X in the middle, doing more super effective damage. Cherubi nearly passed out, but she gained a lot of health back with Leech Seed.

"Well done, trainer." Solana said. "Cherubi! Get away from that Paras at all costs! If you manage to not take damage, Kei will just keep losing health from Leech Seed." Cherubi nodded and quickly dashed across the room.

"I don't think so. Kei, use Poison Powder! When you're done with that, continue with a Leech Life attack!!!"

The last thing she needed was to get the Cherubi all evasive on her. The battle had to end, and quickly.

Kei poisoned Cherubi, who began shuddering and was obviously in pain. Then Leech Life hit and she took a lot of damage, but the health Kei would've gotten was sapped by Leech Seed.

Kei wasn't feeling all too well, with it's energy constantly getting zapped and all. But despite that, she was actually starting to feel pretty good about herself. She really was doing her best in beating the Cherubi and showing Katai that she was strong.

"You're doing good, Kei. Hang in there a little longer. Now power up with Growth then attack with another Aerial Ace!!!"

The determination was burning in both Katai and Kei's eyes.

Kei grew to double her original size and jumped into the air, coming slashing down on Cherubi. Solana smiled.

"You're very strong, Kei. Cherubi, use another Growth of your own and attack with a Magical Leaf." Cherubi grew again, now four times her original size. She shot a giant glowing leaf, dealing great damage to Kei.

"Oh yeah, we can do that too! Kei, use another Growth and attack with Hidden Power!!!"

Hidden Power was a pretty long shot, but Katai was willing to take the risk. Whatever came out of that attack, it would help.

Hidden power hit the cherry pokemon -- and it did great damage. Kei lept up with happiness, you could start seeing Cherubi becoming weaker and weaker.

"Nice tatic, you just used there" Solana complimented. "Now, Cherubi, lets some light it here, please? Sunny day! And then follow up with Solar Beam!".

Cherubi closed her eyes, and a powerful beam shot out of her into the air, and the whole battle arena became much hotter and brighter. Then, Cherubi shot a fast Solar beam at Kei!

"Ah, Kei! Look out!!!"

But it was too late. Kei got hit pretty hard and flew back a few inches. Kei did her best to get up, but she was struggling.

"Kei, don't give up yet. Try using Leech Seed! Then attack with an Aerial Ace attack!!!"

Suddenly both Pokémon lay on the floor of the altar, drained of health by each others' Leech Seeds. Though their healths were being replinished at the same time, they still felt the pain of the health lost. Kei slowly got up and used Aerial Ace, slicing through Cherubi, doing so much damage it made it clear Kei would most likely win. Cherubi shot another Magic Leaf attack, doing some poor damage.

"Kei, we're almost there! Now use another Growth and then use the strongest Sludge Bomb you can manage!!!"

Kei was panting heavily, really drained by now, but she did her best. Katai noted that after this battle was over she would let Kei rest a lot, whether she won or lost.

Kei nodded and used the Growth attack. After that she relaxed for a minute, trying to gain a lot of energy. She unleashed her strongest Sludge Bomb, causing damage and poisoning Solana's summoned Pokemon. The Cherubi used Facade, doing extra damage because of it's poisoned status. Your turn again!

Katai thought for awhile. Did she go for more powerful attacks to make sure Cherubi fainted? Or did she try to heal Kei and attack?

"I think I'll do this! Kei, use Leech Life then attack with with Aerial Ace again! I know it sounds repetitive, but we can do this!"

Leech Life heals Kei a lot this time, and Aerial Ace nearly knocks Cherubi out. As the poison takes it's toll on her health, Cherubi uses this turn to cling on to her last bit of life.

Katai smiled as she saw that she was close to winning this battle and ending it once and for all.

"Okay, just a bit more, Kei! Finish it off with the strongest Aerial Ace you've got!!!"

Kei nodded determinedly. A little more...just a little more left...

You watched as your Paras ran towards the Cherubi.

Solana just stayed calm.

Paras was getting closer.

Cherubi stayed in her spot, waiting for a command from Solana.

Nothing... You watched Kei lift up her pinchers, they glowed white and then -

"PROTECT!" At the last second Cherubi had a blue aura around it, and as Kei attacked -- nothing happened.

"Nice try. Your not gonna win that easy!" Solana said. "NOW, USE SOLAR BEAM!"

But Kei was lucky, Cherubi had to absorb light at the sunny day effect had dried out.

Kei was a little taken aback at the sudden counter, but snapped right back into it when she saw Cherubi getting ready to fire the Solarbeam.

"Kei, use Endure! Then go for a Leech Life attack!"

Using Endure was still pretty risky, but she hoped that Leech Life would compensate for that.

Kei's endure worked just as it should! It let Kei hold on to one last bit of health! Then Kei's Leech Life landed a Super Effective hit to recover a lot of health! Cherubi began charging for another Solar Beam.

Katai bit her lip nervously and looked at her worn out Paras. How long could she keep on battling?

"Just...just a little longer, Kei. Same attacks! Endure then Leech Life!"

Solar Beam hit, but did little damage anyway, so endure wasn't needed. Leech Life recovered so much energy that Kei seemed to be very happy to be battling.

Katai noticed that Kei was starting to look better now and smiled.

"Alright, Kei, looking good. Now, use Sludge Bomb and if it's still standing, use a Slash attack!!!"

Sludge bomb hit and was very effective. Cherubi was fastly loosing its strength.

"Common! Cherubi, get back up, pretty please! Use a Solar Beam!" Solana asked, but you noticed she was becoming more anxious as every move was being made. Cherubi took in sunlight.

Katai smirked a little. If she went all out now then she would probably be able to win this battle once and for all.

"Alright Kei, attack with X-Scissor now!!!"

X-Scissor sliced nicely through Cherubi, making her lose her focus and the energy she had taken in.

"It's okay! Try to collect that light back up! I know you can pull off another Solar Beam!"

"Don't give Cherubi that chance, Kei! Use Aerial Ace, then X-Scissor again!!!"

Attacks were becoming repetitive, but at least they were effective.

Kei jumped into the air, and came down slashing, with her claws glowing white! The Aerial Ace dealt huge damage, and Cherubi flipped over! Kei grinned and her claws glowed green. Slashing them downwards in an X. Cherubi was knocked into the wall!

You waited...

and waited...

and waited...

and- "You have defeated me, trainer. I believe your name is... Katai? Well Katai, I shall join you on your journey to Dragonair's Den." Congrats! You Won! Kei gains a level and .5 happiness.

Kei jumped up in the air happily and ran over to Katai, who smiled at her.

"You did a great job, Kei. I guess this means that we continue on to the town, huh? We better get a move on then."
