Title: Third Version to Diamond and Pearl

Suppi - October 8, 2007 04:47 AM (GMT)
If Nintendo brings out a third game to accompany D/P, like they have with the other generations, what do you think will be altered?

I think Giratina will be the mascot; and the game will either be called 'Pokemon Opal' or 'Pokemon Girasol' (Giratina name comes from Girasol btw ><).

Plot? Maybe something to do with Giratina trying to destroy the world ><?

What do you guys think (:?

I don't know why, but playing D/P reminds me a lot of playing FR/LG. Then again, this could just be based on the graphics or whatever, but another good question: Will Diamond and Pearl have a third game attached?

Tenshi - October 8, 2007 03:28 PM (GMT)
I think if there is a third part to D and P it would involve the godly god Pokémon, Arceus! n_n

Shadow of Regice - October 8, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
you can't get arceus in-game, that would be like emerald based on deoxys or something :sweatdrop: I would bet giratina, cressilia, or regigigas. (is it me, or did I spell all of those wrong... grah... I hate after shot sickness). but t'would be cool if you needed to capture uxie, mesprit, and azelf to stop a rampage... and got to see the ruined sunnyshore or jubilife... that would be awesome as heck... destroyed city of doom....

Alma Altars - October 9, 2007 12:13 AM (GMT)
I didn't quite think of that. If they do make a third one, which is very likely, I would think it would involve Girantina as the main legendary, seeing as he's the third Dragonic legendary in this generation.

PokéSonic - October 9, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
I vote for Opal. As for the Giratina, I think the main legend would be Cresselia.

Suppi - October 9, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
I'd like to see Darkrai on the box... but seeing how Giratina seems to be the assest to the other two [forget there names xD;] it will probably be him/her.

Shadow of Regice - October 9, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
good point, giratina makes sense that way... Like dialga and palkia control the east and west sides respectively, and you need to restore peace and like that stuff... but they need a destroyed city... that I must have, or I will spend hours making one myself...

Alma Altars - October 11, 2007 02:01 AM (GMT)
I still don't see them making Cresselia or Regigigas or any of those the main legendary. I'll stick with Girantina.

As for the story line, I think they'll just do everything they did with Palkia and Dialga, but switch 'em with Girantina.

East side? West side? Sounds like some sort of gang drama. Like...Dialga and Palkia are ex-homeboys, but they joined different gangs and now they're both after the same girl, who is...the female trainer. Of course, she doesn't really like either of them. She's in love with Arceus because he promised her ultimate power and a nice ring and all the shopping money she could ever desire. But anyway, Dialga and Palkia have a stand-off. Both sides are afraid to fire the first bullet (wut r dragn ataks lol) until Giratina (or is it Girantina? I haven't even gotten that far in the game yet) shows up and starts mixing it up. He's a young ambitious Pokemon who's moving in on both of their turfs with his sexy girlfriend, Pachirisu. Who falls in love with Palkia, who's given up on the female trainer and is now going out with an Abomasnow. Abomasnow is Dialga's ex, and Dialga still feels something for her. So it ends with a huge, anticlimactic shoot-off and the entire human race watching and saying, "Umm...what?"

...Yeah. I scare even myself sometimes. :sweatdrop:

BOC2 - October 13, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
Maybe, uhh, Phione? :sweatdrop: just trying to be different... Pokemon Aquamarine or somethin'... I mean otherwise Phione will just stay useless. I would like to see the mirages play more of a role, too... But only if they let you catch Mesprit normally... I LOATHE RUNNERS!

Caffeinated Doom - May 16, 2008 03:21 PM (GMT)
It's been announced - the third version to D/P is Pokemon Platinum, with Giratina's "Origin" form as the main legendary. Supposedly, Regigigas and Shaymin also get new forms - "Sky" and "Another" respectively. Unfortunately, there's not really a whole lot of info available at the moment - I learned what I know from serebii.net. It's supposed to come out in Japan sometime this fall and, in theory, here sometime in 2009.

Harwinder - May 25, 2008 10:59 PM (GMT)
This is my opinion.

We might find out what the plot will be when the new Pokemon Movies comes out, the main character in the new movie is Giratina.

Also yes like Caffeinated Doom said the new game will be based around Giratina and is set to be released in September of 2009. About the name I am not sure what it will be called, but Serebii had a lot of info about new game. They even had a "possible" picture of how it might look.

Caffeinated Doom - May 25, 2008 11:18 PM (GMT)
Is September confirmed? Only place I saw that was on a random Japanese site using google translator, and I didn't know if it was a rumor or not.

Harwinder - May 26, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
Yeah, September 2009 according to Serebii.net.

Caffeinated Doom - May 26, 2008 01:55 AM (GMT)
2008. :XD: Also, that's only mentioned under "Rumors;" I checked. The only part they've confirmed is that it's coming out in autumn. Doesn't mean it hasn't been confirmed in Japan, but if it has, it hasn't been updated on the English language websites.

Harwinder - May 26, 2008 03:41 AM (GMT)
Well rumors that haven't been proven wrong are good enough for me.

Wynn - May 26, 2008 08:32 AM (GMT)
eeeeh I think the third game is going to be more like a haunted house then the whole Time and Space theme of D/P because afterall there is only one thing that has no time or space and that is a ghost; so it's like the 3rd completing element (like Rayquaza is sky; Groundon is earth; and Kyogre ocean or Ho-oh is the guardian of livelyhood and Lugia is the guardian of the balance of everything xD) The story of Pokemon is a bit to complex because the themes seem random to English speaking folks. Despite some of the themes are western and most are universal to make it a game for everyone it has a very Eastern theme in the essence of guardian spirits....

There are several contenuity issues surrounding Mew vs. Arceus being the root Pokemon; but apparently Arceus isn't really a PokeGod; but more or less the "big cheese" kinda like Zeus in Greek mythology. Mew is the first pokemon and it copied itself and one of it's copies is Arceus who created Palkia; Dialga; Giratina; Mespirit; Azelf and Uxie to keep balance in Space; Time; Death; Feeling; Willpower and the Knowledge of alltime. 3 Other clones became the first Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza taking over duties for the sea, earth and sky. Deviated from them wss 1 being split into 3 being Regigigas who keeps the earth's elemental structure in check taking the forms of 3 seperate bodys Regice, Regirock and Registeel respectively. 2 of Mews' copies split into 2 birds, one taking over the guardian of life as an entity and the other taking over the effects on said life and the planet being Ho-oh and Lugia who created 3 other birds to represent harazrdous weather conditions being Articuno; Moltres and Zapdos. Then 3 of Mews' clones became dogs whom roam the regions scouting to prevent abuse of the potentially dangerous distaster elements; fire; electricity and water/ice being Entei; Raikou and Suicune.

Simply put; all of the main pokes for games represent spirits for natural phenomena born from the base creature Mew. (much like the greek gods) the rest of the legendarys are just offsets and anomylies or aliens for the most part.

Harwinder - May 26, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
Well reading that I do disagree somewhat but I believe you have a point.

Just to make on correction, Mew DID NOT create the three legendary dogs, Ho-Oh did. Ho-oh how ever is on of Mew's creations.

Fire Starter - May 29, 2008 12:46 PM (GMT)
@.@ at wynn's last post.. xD

ya lost me there xD Couldn't follow that at all. xDD

fair enough xD though the dogs being of Ho-oh's origin isn't much different from Mew because still all in all, every pokemon originates from Mew, even Arcues the Alpha pokemon. Arceus' as far as the story goes might be a specific branch of Mew's strongest clones but even so Arceus is in no way a "god?.

@-Firestarter, just trying to clerify the lore of Pokemon as I know it as it has been unravelled,

Harwinder - May 30, 2008 10:27 PM (GMT)
Well technically Arceus is the one who "over looks" the world of Pokemon, and is somehow related to every Pokemon alive.

But again this is just some lame legendary made by Satoshi Tajari, I think he ran out of super abilities and stories, that certainly would explain why Arceus is supposed to be the strongest yet Mew is stronger, and all the resy of the crap.

Here's my random Theory :P

Since we've seen screenshots with Dialga and Palkia int he back with Giratina in the front, I think it'll be like Emerald.

Only Backwards!

When Dialga and Palkia are awakened by Team Galatic, The two being in the same spot awaken Giratina. And since the balances of space and time are off, it goes into a rage that transforms it into it's Origin form and it begins to destroy the Sinnoh Region. It then becomes your task to calm Giratina down. Once fixed, Dialga and Palkia can use their powers to bend Time and Space to restore Sinnoh to it's former self.

End :P

interesting idea...
I like to see a corrupted sinnoh! (you know like maybe giratina screws everything up) Sound the closest thing to glitch that not well uh glitchy
but maybe that's asking to much

Shadow of Regice - June 9, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
lol even better, he just brings you to another world he messed up and you have to find your way out! The leader of team galactic teams up with you, because you both were thrown in by giritina! And you are attacked by flying candybars... and you notice that the trickmaster from r/s/e is there also.. so he can trick you!

Wynn - October 21, 2008 08:00 AM (GMT)
Apparently Giratina isn't the creature put in charge of the world between life and death, but it is linked between our dimension and another called "The Torn World" (which in english translation might be changed to the Dark World or something of that sort) Platinum is supposed to sport a much more prominant use of the Wi-Fi, but there's a bit of a problem I've found in it... Everyone's Pokemon Ranch only allows you to import and export pokes from a game back to it's original, meaning unless you have someone to help you transport pokes you cannot use the most recent "pokebox" game to port your pokes (x__x ouch eh?). The other problem with Platinum is going to be with all of "new forms" that certain Pokemon take (much in the essence of Deoxys) it seems there will be another PBR and it's unknown if Ranch will just transform said pokemon back to their forms when entering Platinum or if (by any chance at all) Nintendo will patch Everyone's Pokemon Ranch.

My evaluation: Platinum is going to be great as a pokemon game however the new content and limits of other softwares is going to create a good bit of pain. Hopefully ith the release of the DSi the new Wi-Fi terminals and GTS will blossom further (and implement stronger filters). Don't hold your breath though, it could be a dud,but it certainly looks nice.
