I stare out into the ocean, watching the waves crash against the sandy shore. Deep breath, and a sigh. "Aaah, what a beautiful way to start an adventure! Isn't it beautiful, Pyro? ..... Pyro?"

I hear a frightened squeak behind me, and my Cyndaquil Pyro is curled up like a hedgehog far away from the shore. He squeaks out, "Water bad, water is very bad for Pyro!" Commence sweatdropping from me. I should have figured, bringing a fire starter to the ocean...

"Oh c'mon, Pyro! It'll be a good experience for you! You could get over your fear of water!" He shakes his head, refusing to move. Another sigh from me. "Come here..." I walk over, and scoop him up in my arms. "Come on, Pyro. You know I will protect you."

His muscles loosen up a bit. He looks up at me. "I-I'm sorry... I-It's just that I've never been this close to this much water before... I'll try to compose myself! For you, Maddie!"

I smile, and look over to a dock some ways away. "C'mon, let's go rent a boat." "Why can't we ride on Silver?" "Silver is too young, and he doesn't exactly know how to handle people and Pokemon on his back." "You would think since he can swim they would've made all Lugias Water types." "Uh... right. You can discuss that with the Nintendo company later." "Hi ho Silver! Away!" "...... You recover quickly." "Yes indeed I do!"

After much arguing with a boat renter, we aquired a small boat. Here I am now, sitting in a boat, watching my Pokemon frolick around. Pyro is playing a game of tag with little Zani. Silver and Aqua are swimming in the water, seeing who can jump out of the water the highest.

Feeling the gentle sway of the waves beneath me, I begin to close my eyes, content and relaxed. Totally not what a good trainer would do. You've got to keep your eyes peeled. Not literally, eeew! Sicko.

Unfortunately for me, I do not have enough experience. As I began to drift, I was caught in surprise.

You heard a soothing call from a Pokémon. As you listened, it sounded like music. As your boat wandered closer and closer to the source of the sound you found yourselves surrouned by thick mist. The breeze slowed and eventually came to a stop. Everything came to rest. Even your boat stopped moving and the waves went away. Everything was calm.

You watched a shadowy blob approach you, slowly swimming over the sea. As it came closer you could tell what it was. It was a Lapras! Not just a Lapras, though, for this one was purple, not blue. It was a Shiny Lapras! It came closer and you saw a few Mudkips riding along on its back.

"This is great," you said, "if can catch that Lapras I won't need this boat! That Pokémon is obviously able to carry people and Pokémon around on its back!" You smiled at the Pokémon.

"Lapras..." It smiled back. Then it turned its head to the Mudkips. "Lapras." Suddenly all of the Mudkips nodded and jumped off into the water, swimming away happilly.

"So, do you want to come with me, Lapras?" You asked.

"Lapras." It said and then fired an Ice Beam straight into the sky. It seemed as though it wanted to battle first.

"Hah! A battle it is, then! C'mon Aqua, let's go!"

The Double Blue Dratini leaped out of the water, and faced the Shiny Lapras. As innocent as her face looked, she was a willing fighter! "Yeah, let's go!"

"Okay, Aqua! Use Slam!"

The dragon-like Pokemon flung herself at the Lapras, aiming with full force.

As Aqua was going straight toward Lapras' head, Lapras smiled and turned, showing her shell to Aqua. "Draaa! Tiiiiiniiii!" Dratini hit the shell hard, but did no damage to Lapras.

"Laaaaapraaaas...." Lapras smiled at Aqua. "Lapras!" Her mouth lit up light blue and she fired an Ice Beam right at Aqua, doing some major damage. Fortunately for you, Aqua wasn't frozen.

ooc: She can use any move she can learn, right? ._.

I winced as I saw my Dratini take a hard beating. I've got to think of something... I thought. I didn't want to make my poor Aqua faint.

"Hold on, girl! You can do it!" The Double Blue Dratini straightened up, regaining its composure. "Yeah, I can! I can do it!"

"Go, Aqua! Use your Dragon Rage!"

Shock waves formed around the Dratini's body, and she launched them out at the Shiny Lapras.

(OOC: Yes.)

Lapras tried to block with her shell again, but Dragon Rage always does a set amount od damage, so Lapras was still hurt. She used a mist attack, making it very hard to see anything.

ooc: Thanks.

I looked around, unable to see much around me. "Ah nuts! We've got to be careful. Aqua!" The Double Blue Dratini perked its head towards the voice it heard. "Yes?"

"Try to find Lapras in the mist! When you've locked onto where it is, use Dragon Rush!"

She nodded, and turned her head to listen to where the Lapras was. Hearing something, she focused in the direction of Lapras and used Dragon Rush!

Dratini rushed towards where it had thought to have heard the Lapras and smacked into something. You couldn't tell if it was the Lapras, another Pokémon or even an inanimate object. Dratini shook its head as it realized what it hit, what it hit was a rather large rock.

The Lapras had played a trick on Dratini and swam up behind it using a Tackle attack. Dratini was shocked, it didn't expect that too happen. Dratini turned around and waited for you to command it.

I winced, watching her hit the rock hard. "Er... Let's try something different."

I thought and thought, trying to think of what to do. I've been having Aqua use mostly Dragon attacks, that doesn't seem to be working very well... She either needs to use an electric or fighting attack... "That's it!!!"

Aqua looked at me, confused. Smiling, I shouted, "Use a Thunderbolt on Lapras, Aqua! Just don't make it faint, we want to catch it!"

Eyes brightening, she nodded. Closing her eyes, static seemed to course along her snake-like body. She released it in several bolts of lightning, aiming them towards the Shiny Lapras.

"Lapras?!" The Shiny Lapras was unable to get away and was struck by the bolts and was badly damaged. She winced in pain and was very close to fainting!

I smiled widely, jumping in the air. "Yeah, that's the way to do it! Go Aqua!"

The Double Blue Dratini bounced happily, keeping her eye on the Lapras.

"Okay, let's try this." I pulled a Pokeball out of my pocket, expanding it to full size. I threw it at the Lapras, hoping to catch it.

"C'mon, Pokeball! Don't fail me now!"

I watched carefully after, preparing in my head if the Lapras wasn't captured.

"Lapras!" Lapras cried out as the ball hit and she was pulled inside. It fell to the surface of the water and floated. *shake* *shake* *shake* You've captured a Shiny Lapras! Congratulations! Would you like to nickname it?

ooc: I'll name her Shiya.

I was jumping around the boat, pumping my fist into the air, and screaming, "Woohoo! I caught my first Pokemon!" for several minutes. When I stopped I found Aqua holding out the Pokeball that was in the water, she had swam out and got it for me.

I smiled, and picked her up. "Thank you so much for helping me! You were awesome!". The Double Blue Dratini's eyes sparkled and shined, and she happily jumped from my arms into the sea to do jumps. I giggled, watching her.

"Well, now that I have a Lapras, I don't need this boat! Uh... But what do I do with it?", an idea popped into my head. I released the Shiny Lapras from her ball, and she appeared in the water, blinking at me kindly.

"Welcome to the team, Lapras! Your new nickname shall be Shiya! Is that okay with you?" Shiya nodded, smiling. She liked the name!

"Okay, good! Pyro, Zani! I want you to hop onto Shiya's back!" The Cyndaquil and Zengo obeyed. I got onto the shell back as well as I could, and balanced myself agaisnt her neck. "Silver!" The Lugia turned to me. "I want you to use Gust and blow the boat back to shore!" He nodded, and lifted himself from the water. He flapped his wings hard, sending the boat reeling back towards the direction of the shore. "Nice! Okay, let's continue with our adventure!"

And so we did. Currently, Zani and Pyro are sitting on Shiya's head, playing little games. Shiya is watching Silver and Aqua do silly stunts on the water. I am sitting on Shiya's back, holding onto her neck. I sigh, and lean my head against her cool, rubbery neck. If this is what a regular trainer's life is like, I could very much enjoy this...

As you ride along on Shiya's back, you find yourself hearing a boat's horn! You look to see, and a huge cruise ship is slowing down next to you. A rope ladder is lowered to you and you hear someone shout.

"Come on up! There's just me and my father, and I'd like to battle you!" It sounds like a kid about fifteen or so. Will you go?

I shaded my eyes, looking up at the huge ship. My eyes widened at the word 'battle'. "Heck yeah I'd like to battle you!" I shouted, and climbed up the rope ladder. Pyro and Zani followed after me.

I put a hand on my hip, and smiled.

"Alright, show me what you've got! C'mon up, Silver!"

The Diving Pokemon flew towards the deck, and lowered itself. Although most Lugia are large, this one was a growing one. He was young, and needed time to grow before he was full size, but his power is matched to any other adult Lugia.

The two other water-dwelling Pokemon waited below.

I smiled, pulling the marine-blue goggles that lay on my head like a bandana over my eyes. "Bring it on!"

You looked around, seeing no one, not even the kid who had shouted to you. Suddenly, a rich looking kid walked up.

"I'm sorry, I had to go count up the money I'll give you if you win. Is 1000 G enough? Not that you'll win, but just to be safe." You smiled.

"Sure, that's great!"

"Let's get started then, shall we?" He sent out a Pikachu wearing diamond jewelry. Fancy.

Oh great. This kid gives his Pikachu jewelry? Not the best for in battle.

"Okay, let's get this party started, Silver! Use Ancientpower!"

He nodded, and closed his eyes. Rosy colored energy covered his body. He quickly opened his eyes, and relased it. A torrent of large rocks flew from nowhere towards the Pikachu.

The rich kid smirked. "Oh Pikachu, darling, could you please show them your Return? I know you love me dearly, so this move should be quite strong." Pikachu smiled brightly and jumped up, doing s front flip during which he sliced straight through a boulder and landed, after which he dodged many of the rest.

"Thank you, Pikachu. Now, try a Double Team!" Pikachu began runing around Silver in circles, faster and faster until it seemed as though there were hundreds of Pikachu.

Crud, this kid's tough! Gotta watch my back...

"Okay, Silver! I know it's confusing, but listen! Focus your energy, and use Psychic in every direction!"

He nodded, closing his eyes again. A wave of Psychic energy was relased in all directions.

All of the clones vanished and the real Pikachu was left, being hit and damaged by the Psychic. The intensity was so much that the jewels in the Pikachu's necklace and rings all cracked.

"Aw. Too bad, you broke Pikachu's jewelry for this week. Oh well, he'll get more in a couple of days. Pikachu, take off the jewelry, it's broken now and it was slowing you down anyway." Pikachu happilly obeyed. "Splendid. Now, Pikachu, use an Agility followed by a Thunderpunch. We bred you just right so you could get that move." Pikachu nodded.

Pikachu suddenly bolted from where it had been sitting and was moving lightning fast. Suddenly, he stopped in front of Silver and launched forward with a Thunderpunch, doing a massive amount of damage!

Ouch. That's got to hurt since he's part flying type. Now what? If I use a Flying attack, it won't do much. Unless it's a powerful one... That's it!

"Okay, I'm through playing around! Silver, use Future Sight then Aeroblast!"

The Lugia's eyes glowed pinkish-purple, as he used Future Sight. All set, he produced a large, glowing ord of energy in his mouth. He released straight towards the Pikachu.

"Oh, dear! Pikachu, darling, you really should try to dodge that!" The rich kid shouted to Pikachu.

"Pi.... Pika...." Pikachu said, frozen with fear. He couldn't move from his spot! He took the full force of the attack and nearly fainted.

"No! Pikachu! You are NOT about to waste all of those HP medicines I bought and used on you, are you?! You should be indestructable!" He grunted. "Get up and use a Thunder Attack!" Pikachu got to his feet and began to glow. Suddenly, a giant bolt of electricity shot from him to Silver, doing a lot of damage!

I watched Silver take on the attack, and I heard him wail with pain. "Oh, no..."

I gulped. Have to think of something, fast! "Silver, try an Ice Beam!"

Weakly, he nodded. He lifted his head up, and another beam of energy formed in his mouth, only this one was ice-cold. It burst from his mouth, and the ice energy pulsed toward its target.

Pikachu was hit and fainted instantly. "Oh, no! Pikachu!" The rich kid returned him. (Silver gained a level) "You just take a nice long rest, my friend." He turned to you. "Thank you for the battle. Here are your earnings. I must say you're quite the trainer." You thanked him and you left, returning to the sea with Lapras.

As you swam along, you saw a Squirtle pop up out of the water and onto Lapras' back with you.

"Squirtle, squirt!" He said, seeming to want a battle.

"Aww, hey there little buddy! Sure, you want a battle?"

I stood up on Shiya's back, and called a new Pokemon forward from its Pokeball. "C'mon out, Sparky! Time for you to shine!"

The Pikachu appeared in a flash of light, and it twitched its ears and blinked, curious. "Okay Sparky, time for your first battle. Use a Thunderbolt on that Squirtle!"

Sparks shot from his cheeks, and he used Thunderbolt as commanded.

Squirtle withdrew into his shell, but took massive damage anyway. He then got up and used a Water Gun, doing some average damage.

"Squirtle Squirt!" He said. He sounded like he was having fun!

I giggled, watching the cute little Squirtle. What a nice little Pokemon!

"Aww, I can tell you enjoy battling! Sparky, use Quick Attack!"

The Pikachu dashed towards the turtle Pokemon at its full speed.

Sparky hit Squirtle hard, nearly knockingt him off of your Lapras' back and into the water.

"Squirt! Squirtle!" He said as he smiled. He then Withdrew once again into his shell for protection.

"You like hiding, huh? Smart little guy. Okay, Sparky, try an Iron Tail!"

The electric mouse Pokemon's tail glowed white, and he jumped to aim his tail towards the Squirtle, and let himself fall towards him.

Sparky's hardened tail hit Squirtle's shell with crushing force, nearly cracking it. Squirtle came out and stumbled around before falling over, nearly fainted.

"Squirtle....... Squirt......." He said, laying on his back.

"Hm, poor little guy! I think we should take him with us. He'd be a good addition, don't you think?"

Many of my Pokemon nodded, wanting to have another friend on this journey.

"So be it, then!"

I pulled out a Pokeball, and threw it at the Squirtle eagerly.

It hit Squirtle and sucked him up inside.



Squirtle was caught! Would you like to nickname him?

As your team swan along through the ocean, you noticed a glowing patch of water. As you directed your Lapras to go closer, the light grew brighter and a Chinchou popped its head out of the water to stare at you. It seemed to want to battle.

ooc: I think I'll nickname him Hyrdro. :D

"Woah, look! A Chinchou! This'll be a good battle. C'mon, Zani! Battle time!"

The little Zengo leaped in front of me, looking down in the water at the Chinchou. Good thing I can swim, the little Cat Ferret Pokemon thought, looking down at the deep waters before her.

"Zani, use a Scratch attack!"

Snapping out of her thoughts, Zani lunged towards the Chinchou, preparing to use Scratch with her tiny little purple claws.

Zani's Scratch attack did a lot of damage and Chinchou ducked under the water from a moment. She then came jumping out of the water and landed on your Lapras' back, apparently wanting to battle on land!

"Chinchou!" Chinchou then used a Thundershock, doing some mild damage.

Shiya looked back at the activity happening on her back. Just don't scratch up my shell..., she thought.

"Good, Zani! Very good! Use Quick Attack!"

And zip! went the Zengo.

Zani quickly smashed into Chinchou at high speeds, kocking Chinchou off Shiya's back and into the water. You looked around cautiously for where Chinchou might pop up. Suddenly, a patch of water began to glow.

"BIN BOW!" You heard Chinchou's cry, but it was changed by the water. Suddenly, a Thunderbolt came up out of the water and hit Zani, doing some massive damage!

"You okay, Zani?"

The Zengo smiled at its trainer. It was still happy, even if it took that much damage.

"Okay. I think we need to go with special attacks now. Zani, Shadow Ball!"

She held her little claws out to the side, and a orb of dark matter formed in her paws. As it grew bigger, she flung it from her hand down into the water.

The orb of shadows flew through the water and then exploded upon impact with Chinchou, sending him bursting out of the water and back onto Shiya's shell.

"Chin...." He said, exhausted. He used another Thundershock, but it didn't do much damage.

"Let's try to finish him off, Zani! Focus Punch!"

Her eyes closed, her focus building. Power was building in her little paw/hand/claw/whateveryoucallit, and she aimed for the Chinchou, fist clenched.

Zani focuses on the Chinchou...a little too hard, really - it starts to get a headache. Its punch is successful, though: tasty, sweet, not too tart. And painful. Can't forget painful. Chinchou is K.O.'d, and Zani gains a level.

As you continue onward, you spy with your little eye something orange floating just under the surface of the water. Is that...yes, it is! A buoyant weasel! A Buizel!
