This post is for anyone who owns a "Mysterious Egg of Mystery," which was given out by the third anniversary promo in late July 2007.


Strolling along past the evolution area one day, you notice something seemed different. You approach for a closer look. There's a sign that says, "Free Egg Hatching." Free? Sounds a little suspicious, you think. Even more suspicious is the pair of Team Rocket members standing next to it. But your curiosity gets the best of you, and you approach them.

"So can you really hatch eggs? I thought only Valerie, leader of the Egg Gym, could do that."
Rocket 1: "Well, for normal eggs that's true. We, however, have the ability to hatch a very special egg that Valerie cannot... the Mysterious Egg of Mystery!"
"If Valerie can't do it, what makes you think you can?"
Rocket 2: "We don't think! We know!"
Rocket 1: "Team Rocket is just that good."
"So why would Team Rocket do something like this for free?"
Rocket 1: "The shells from these particular eggs hold a magical power that we are using in our latest evil pl---"
*Rocket 2 slaps Rocket 1*
Rocket 1: "Shh!! Don't share our evil plans, idiot!"
Rocket 2: "Oh, right."
Rocket 1: "So anyway, let's have a look at that Mysterious Egg of Mystery you've got."
"Hey, how did you know I have one?"
Rocket 1: "Like I said, Team Rocket is just that good."
"So what hatches from this egg?"
Rocket 2: "Oddly enough, it could be one of the four newest discovered Pokemon. The cool thing is you get to choose which one you get."
Rocket 1: "That's right. Our egg-hatching technology has that ability. So what do you say? We're the only chance you've got of hatching that egg."


Interesting. It looks like this suspicious duo will hatch your Mysterious Egg of Mystery into one of the following Pokemon of your choice: Akane, Pupton, Snotar, or Mawlish. Check the Neodex forum for information about each. (Snotar does not yet have a Neodex entry, but its information can be found here.)

Simply reply with the name of the Pokemon you'd like to hatch from your egg. You may also choose the gender if that Pokemon is not genderless. The hatched Pokemon will be level 1. The Mysterious Egg of Mystery does not need to be in your party to hatch. It can be in your box. This post will remain open for a long time, so don't worry about rushing your decision.

Mm. I'm tempted to get another Akane, since Akane's just so awesome. On the other hand, Mawlish is the creation of my favorite minion...er, I mean, my best friend, the ever-lovable Jupe. And I do already have an Akane. Mawlish it is, then. (And I'll update.)

Since I already have an Akane (Alma gave me his), I'll have a Mawlish, since the not-almighty whatsoever Jupe made it. Yay!

I wants a female Pupton named Bitton. And I'm keeping the shell!
