Title: Searching in the lane.

Sentient_Being - September 17, 2007 05:22 PM (GMT)
Orion stepped forward, entering which what would be: Tamar Lane. Brushing his legs and feet were flowers of all kinds, arranged in colour, style and size. Many moved with the wind, some resisted and attempted to stay fit, yet none could hold on for longer. This kind of environment didn't change Orion's personality; no love for the beauty this place beholden, no enjoyment watching butterflies flutter around these grounds.

At a few moments of scanning the surroundings, he finally took his walk, moving through the meadow ( am I correct? ), each step he took, another flower was crushed. Each butterfly nearby made itself scarce as he approached, knowing his intentions were not to observe, as he did not care if he killed a butterfly or two, simply regarding them as "useless bugs with wings".

But..he was searching for something more than his father. He required power, something to rely on, as his heart was indeed filled with loss, grief, sorrow, and the only creature on this planet to turn to was his Cubone. Despite how much he hated loving, he'd grown a respect for the pokemon. As it had shown affection and loyalty even in the most daring situations. So, in reality, he was searching for a strong pokemon he could fight, or even capture if necessary, since he did think he'd require a hobby. Perhaps Pokemon?

He continued moving, the back of his robe dragging along the floor. Disturbing bugs and others alike. He was like an intimidating looking monk, dragging himself through his courtyard, even a pokemon would think twice before jumping out in the fray.

( Sorry if the post is lame. Heh. )

As you walk through the lovely meadow, terrorizing all the beauty that gets in your way, the butterflies that had been trying to keep their distance from you, but yet still float around in the cool breeze about you, suddenly flew off. You slowly turn around, examining your surroundings. You can never be too careful, not even in a meadow. You twirl back around and continue walking through Tamar Lane. You hear a branch break and your instincts cause you to turn your head that way. Up in the tree next to you, you see a figure that looks too big to be a Pokemon, yet it couldn't be a full grown human. I suppose it could be a child, but you can't get a good enough look for evertime you try to cast your eyes upon the shadowy image it vanishes behind all of the brightly colored fall leaves. You look at the horizon that you were walking towards and then back to the tree. Will you go to check it out?

Wait! What's this? You watch as the shadowy person... or perhaps it could be a thing... that you saw from before lowers itself down from the high branches of the tree. The red, orange, and yellow leaves fall to the ground slowly and gracefully after being shaken off the limbs of the tree as the creature started to climb out of the tree, but slipped and fell. With a scream and a "thud" you rush over to see what happened. You hear a faint call for help as you stand over a twelve year old child. A Bulbasaur grunts at you from its trainer's stomach. The boy grunts as he pushes the Bulbasaur off of him. "BULBASAUR! Look what you've done! You've made me slip and fall? How're will I regain my respect in life?" The boy is a drama que--king. "Hey, you! Yeah, you with the face! Come here and challenge me! I bet I beat you in less than... uh..."

"Bulba!!" Bulbasaur cries out, interrupting its trainer, causing more "drama".

"Bulbasaur, let me do the talking. I'm a tough guy, my momma said so!" The little boy said. He sure is immature. You could probably just walk away... he has no clue what's he's dealing with. Or you could stay and show the punk a lesson. What will you choose to do?

(I, obviously, can be pretty lame too, hmm? xD)

Orion's hood slowly, no..CREEPILY turned to the direction of the boy. His feet stopped moving, appearing to be investigating the boy's clothing and expression. It had been quite a long time since somebody had confronted him in such a direct manner, it was indeed...refreshing. Shifting his entire body now to face the child, a short breeze blew through his cloak, making it dance along in the direction it was pushed, adding yet another eerie element to Orion.

Lingeringly Orion moved a covered hand, digging deep into his robe, as it vanished inside, yet after a few seconds it returned out into the open. Yet now, Orion's spectral hand was clutching onto something, a pokeball. With no words said, he weakily threw the ball a few feet away from his position, the ball opening and then releasing a white silhouetted form, which quickly took shape and colour. A Cubone.

Preparing his throat and voice for direct commanding, as he would require to instruct this Cubone for the coming battle. Funnily enough though, he was paying attention to the bulbasaur, trying to figure a way to counter it's advantage in type. As he did indeed know, that his Cubone wasn't as sufficient against a Grass type, although that didn't mean it would loose.

So Orion waited, ready to give the command to "Dodge", although he'd most likely say more than that, since the cubone would most likely not know how to dodge a specific attack, but it depended on his Cubone's reaction and reflex.

( OOC: Ehmm, do you mind roleplaying my Cubone for me? I ehhh...i'm pretty crap at roleplaying non-humanoid beings such as Pokemon..eheh. )

"Why don't you talk?!" The trainer angrilly shouted at you. He waited for a response and was angered even more when he didn't get one. "FINE! BULBASAUR! RAZOR LEAF!" He yelled at the top of his lungs as though you were miles away. Bulbasaur's ears twitched as it heard the shriek of the command.

"Bulba!" It fired hundreds of razor sharp leaves at Cubone.

Without moving you simply said one word, the one you'd already decided on. "Dodge." Cubone nodded and swiftly jumped to dodge the first Leaf, then twisted in midair away from the second. As he came down he landed and ducked under the third, then pushed himself off the ground with his bone for the fourth. He then landed and began repeating this pattern, expertly dodging every last leaf without breaking a sweat.

"Wha- What?!" The trainer's eyes grew wide and he began to sweat.

Orion closely watched his Cubone, his mind agreeing that now was the time for the offence, and with the boy stunned and lost for words, perhaps it would be a good time to strike? He would've guessed that pokemon don't do action without command, and with a poor trainer, a poor pokemon is soon to follow.

"Cubone, use Leer and follow up with head butt"

Orion’s voice was dry and croaking, however that voice seemed to boon with crookidness, and it almost felt demonic. Yet the tone was calm, wasn't too loud or quiet, his commands easy enough to hear at the boys position. Orion's eyes shifted to the direction of the boy, easily noticing the sweat slithering its way down from his brow. With nerves like that it was quite a mystery on how he became a trainer.

Regardless, Orion now focused back onto the battle. Observing the movement of his opponent and Cubone, already devising his next offensive attack and defensive manoeuvre. Strategy was the key in Orion’s mind.

"Bone. Cubone" Cubone nodded and rushed toward the Bulbasaur and lowered its defense with Leer. Then the trainer shouted again, this time a bit less loud.

"B- Bulbasaur! U- Use a Tackle! Quick!" Bulbasaur nodded and lurched forward, sending itself flying at your Cubone, who was also swifty moving forward. Cubone knew exactly what to do at this point for optimal damage.

He tilted his skull forward and kicked hif foot against the ground once more to gain some more speed. Bulbasaur was going far to fast to stop itself now, even though it now saw the error made by using this attack.

A loud smack was heard as the two collided and Bulbasaur went flying. Cubone nicely landed back on its hind legs.

"Bulbasaur! No!" The trainer watched his Pokémon slowly fall and then hit the ground. It managed to survive, however, with a bit of health left. "Okay, if you can still fight, Bulbasaur, use a Leech Seed!"

Watching from afar, Orion couldn't help but grin. Knowing now the Bulbasaur had been greatly weakened by the following attacks. His combination had gone quite well, and he had to compliment himself and his Cubone for it. Slowly moving his arm in the direction of the boy, his finger tightning upwards, turning to a point

"You've lost."

Those words were solid and extremely straightforward. Although he hadn't finished the sentence yet, as he was going to attempt to end this battle right now. Orion wasn't the type to "toy" with his foes; he found it slightly annoying and menacing. Again a few words came out from the cloaked face.

"Cubone, use Bonemerang before it can take advantage."

His lifeless voice was spoken in a direct manner. But something was wrong with the voice, the tone, it had emotion in it, however that emotion was hard to identify, yet to those who could hear it, would most likely think of it as "Sympathy". Was there doubt in Orion's mind? Who knew but himself?

Alma Altars - September 30, 2007 11:39 PM (GMT)
Cubone swiftly twisted back and then spun his right side foward, precisely aiming and throwing its bone right at Bulbasaur at top speed. Just then, though, it seemed Bulbasaur got a bit more serious. Bulbasaur crouched down and sprung up, using all the might he could in his legs.

"Bulba!" He said as he dodged the bone in this way. The bone curved its course and went straight back to Cubone, who caught it neatly in his hand. Bulbasaur awaited another move.

Orion sighed by the poor result. Clasping his hands together in a pondering position, trying to think on how to direct another clean hit, yet with a small variety of taticless moves how could he puncture a hole in the Bulbasaurs defence? Relaxing his arms and hands once more, returning back to his side. This situation was quite difficult, yet the only strategy he could positively think about was a head-on attack, although that could lead to heavy consequences. Regardless, it was only a pokemon battle; winning or loosing wasn't posing him much glory or grief.

"Cubone, bone rush."

Folding his arms as well as turning his gaze towards Bulbasaur. Orion was going to make a record on how he would dodge this attack, and perhaps then he'd be able to figure a way to counter? A part of his mind doubted this move would work, but it was a sacrifice to make, as it would help in the next attack, but another part of his mind was wishing it would hit, as this folly was beginning to trouble Orion's mind, his father could be right in the meadow! And was running away as he was too busy fooling around with pathetic battles as such.

"Cubone bone!" Cubone rushes forward and begins to beat Bulbasaur with the bone.

*SMACK*
*POW*
*BASH*
*BAP*
*KERPOW*

Cubone was able to hit Bulbasaur five times successfully! Then Bulbasaur jumped back a bit and before the trainer could give him an order he unleashed another Razor Leaf!
