Title: Dragonair's Den Map
Joan - August 25, 2007 02:46 AM (GMT)
Many of you have been asking me how the routes and towns are set up in this RPG. (By many, I mean probably 2 or 3... but anyway...) So I've made a map. This is how I've envisioned it looking. Maybe it only makes sense to me. But here it is so you can see it. I'll warn you, it's it's not nice to look at. I am not responsible for any eye injuries caused by this map.
Click to see the map... if you dare. o_OThe dark black lines are railroads. Yes, I know part of it goes through the ocean. There are things called bridges, okay? :XD: The railroads are the method of traveling between routes and towns. This is why you can start in, say, Tamar Lane, finish that, get on the train in Inari and then move on to Cephal Ocean.
And Zante is completely over the water. It is connected to the rest of the land by bridges. Zante itself uses technology to hover above the water.
This map was made up quickly, so it's not official and may (and hopefully will :XD: ) change in the future. It's just to give you an idea of how I originally envisioned the setup of the routes.
So yeah. There it is, in all its hideousness. :sweatdrop:

You told me it was okay in the chat, so here's my version of the map.
Click here to see it!By the way, Vash said my map looks kidney shaped... T-T
:XD:

looks like pac man... grr... I must make a map that looks like that.... hm..

Cor... Joan's right that it's a bit hideous. But although Alma's looks nicer, it's equally confusing. I will have to have a go.

The earliest version of my map is attached to this file. It is laid out on a grid plan. The black circle in the middle is Starter City, where Professor Melinda's lab is located.
The 8 cities around it are (clockwise, starting at the north): Aidenn, Zante, Noir, Samui Rei, Inari, Jinrai, Kendor and Mayapyre.
The 8 long, straight routes that radiate from Starter City are (clockwise, starting at the north): Willow Way, Cephal Ocean, Venin Valley, Tamashii Trail, Kaolin Mountain, Pachi Venue, Ninjutsu Alley and finally Pyro Dunes.
The short routes that run between the cities are Tsubasa Kaze Trail, Pestilence Path, Peccavimus Passage, Borealis Peak, Tamar Lane, Galvalume Gorge, Petro Ridge and the Ethereal Realm. Again, they run clockwise, starting from the north. Each of them has an airport (not shown on the map), so you could fly from Starter City to Petro Ridge, for example, and then go west to Kendor.
The big black route around all of the cities is the Path of Essence, and Dragonair's Den is the black square at the top of the map (52 degrees north, 254 degrees east).
By mistake, I forgot to add the water into this revision of the map, but I'll draw a new one this afternoon and put it in.

o.o *Shot for not understanding before*
I quite like it actually... Still a wee bit weird though... I get the idea, but not the principle... So, we can go from any town to any route? Hence the big black un-named route?
Personally, I prefer the idea for Joan's. It's got a bit of a pretty design to it. I'm gonna have to try to make one now. That shouldl help me understand.

I like Alma's and Joan's maps, though I am completley idiotic and can't understand how to follow them. xP
