Pestilence path. Not exactly the first place most trainers would want to be. Though it had once been a beautiful landscape, filled with wheat, rice, and other grains, some common, some less so. Unfortunately, this attracted bugs, and now the landscape was anything but pretty. now the plants were scarce and blackened, the place swarming wth all bug types imaginable, and, according to some, one that wasn't; the bug spirit.

Despite all this, Seinas Vesper was having the day of his life. He loved everything to do with bugs. They had been his only company for a very long time in his early years. Now he was finally going to pay them back. It would be perfect if not for the fact that his chattot appeared to delight in his torment.

"aahg! Will you shut up!??"
"you'd like that, wouldn't you?"
"yes. very much so. very,very much so"
"to bad. what are we doing here, anyway"
"a big favor for these pokemon. You to, if you watch your mouth."
"........fine"

"good. Lets start this. wish there was someone here, but we'll have to do this the long way"

In one smooth movement, Seinas grabbed a bottle of an amber colored liquid, and smashed it on the ground. It was a serum that produced a smell irrisistable to bugs. Sooner or later one would come. All he had to do was wait.

As the bug attractiant was starting to stink up the place it wasnt long before you were attacked by what looked like.. a spider ;o spinarak ... lovely.. but hey you wanted to meet up with bugs!

Seinas grinned. things were going much faster than he had expected. He turned to chatot. "you can talk to other species, right?"
"yeah...why?"
"ask the spinarak what it knows about the bug spirit, specifically where to find it."
"oky-dokie"

The Spinarak listened carefully to the chatter of Chatlot's. Spinarak simply shook it's head after the question asked by Chatlot. "A-Rak..." Spinarak squealed and sat down on the ground it eyed your Chatlot up and down.

"well? what does it know?"
"don't ask me, it didn't say."
"wha-why?!"
"think."
"oh"
Seinas smacked his palm onto his forehead, perhaps thinking the sting would drown the humiliation.
"flying types eat bug types. You aren't going to let me forget this are you?"
"never"
Seinas groaned. Of all the pokemon in the world, the one he could understand had to be a flying type.
"right. change of tact. tell it you wont hurt it, but if it still won't tell, I won't hesitate to battle it."
"yessir, boss"

Chatlot hopped on over back to the Spinarak and asked yet again the same question. "A-Rak!!!" The Spinarak squealed and used a String Shot on Chatlot. The web was all sticking to Chatlot's wings and feet and Chatlot was moving a lot slower. The bug Pokémon perhaps felt threatened by Chatlot and wasn't listening properly to it?

(does string shot lower accuracy or speed? if accuracy it has no effect on chatot.)
seinas gritted his teeth so hard it seemed a tooth would crack. He liked bug pokemon, but the spider was really beginning to test his patience.
"darn it!!! this is getting hopeless, we're goind to have to incapacitate it. Think you can fight?"
"yep."
" okay use-wait."
Suddenly he had an insperation/
"use sing"
"what?"
"hyper voice. let's end this fast."

(OOC: It lowers speed)

Chatot used Sing followed by Hyper Voice, and wyou watched carefully to see if either of the moves would hit.

"Spin! Spinarak!" Spinarak quickly shut its eyes and began saying its species name repeatedly to tune out the song, and thus it was able to avoid ebing put to sleep. However it was so busy with that it forgot all about the Hyper Voice, which was a critical hit, doing massive damage!

"yes! did he actually actively try to make that funny? Oh well, either way, you're to slow to get him head on. try flying."
"yessir, boss!"
chatot gave a mocking salute, and streaked into the sky.

Spinarak uses Shadow Sneak before your Chatot can fly up into the sky and wait! Shadow Sneak causes a little bit of damage to your Chatot and the Spinarak seems upset. Your Chatot flys up into the air and looks down at you from above. The Spinarak will sure need to be able to jump high if it wants to hit your Pokemon! Your turn!

(arrg, I HATE that move!>.<)

chatot was hit in the act of taking off, thus making it lose balance, floundering comically around before getting airborne.
"well, so much for a perfect battle. Anyway, it didn't do much damage. use fly and try and sing it again just to be thorough."
"will this involve another cheap shot?"
"unless spinarak has ariel ace or eight very long stilts, I doubt it."

The Spinarak looks up into the air for your Chatot, which will be flying down any time now. It looks disappointed for a minute, but then after a minute of thinking, it seems to have a smile on it's face. It sends up a Psybeam from the ground that hits your Chatot! It causes a little damage, making your Pokemon fall for a minute, but luckily Chatot regains control. Your Chatot soars down and knocks the Spinarak on it's back. It gets back up, but seems upset.

Seinas groaned, thouroughly exhasperated by now. He clenched his fist so hard the nails dug into his skin (thats okay right?).
darnit, why didn't I think of that?! I'm losing my touch. Think! That's what got me into this mess, I was to good to be normal. why can't I think of something?
eventually seinas calmed himself down, and though more clearly.
Right. Pokemon are like trainers. they have tactics. they have certain attack pattern they know work. Lets see, it used....string shot, shadow sneak..and psybeam. String shot lowers speed, and the other two moves were certain to hit first. apparently the spinarak wanted to keep getting easy shots in, whittling down chatots health. Maybe if we could hit first we could slow him down, but if chatot tries aything, he'll use another insti-hit. If I could somehow get some kind of drop on it..there we go."

Slowly seinas bent down, and as he hoped, the spider eyed him warily, keeping its eyes trained on him. Suddenly he grabbed a handfull of weed and dirt and threw it the spinarak, yelling.
"quick chatot, ariel ace and feather dance on the way down, that shpould even the playing field!"

"SPINARAK!" The Pokemon called angrily being caught off gaurd by the foe it thought would be an easy match. It growled as it tried to clear the dust and weeds from it's eyes. All of them. It obviously was stinging and causing damage. You Chatot used the attacks that were commanded, causing a major amount of damage to the blinded Spinarak.

The Spinarak tried to attack Chatot, but it was still shouting in pain from the dirt in its eyes.

Seinas pumped his fist silently. He still had his tuch.
"righ', I'm thinking asking for directions won't work. oh well, I can still catch the guy."
Seinas hefted a pokeball from his belt and lobbed it at the spider.

The Pokéball hit Spinarak head on and sucked him up.
