Title: Steel types, huh?
Description: Sounds exciting...

Magmabuzz - July 5, 2007 12:33 PM (GMT)
Knowing that steel types could be tough, I decided to start my training in Galvalume Gorge, home to many a steel type. I released Sudowoodo, ready to get him so well needed training. The two of us walked the canyon, amazed at how deep it was, but also amazed at it's surprising beauty. "Not a bad place to start out, huh Sudowoodo?"

"Sudowoodo!" he answered with an arm raised slightly in the air.

Fire Starter - July 5, 2007 12:46 PM (GMT)
As you and sudowoodo just mosey on down into the gorge it isnt long untill you meet one of those fable'd little steal pokemon. This on just happens to be... A magnimite :o not my first choice I tell you but it is what the randomizer decided to give out. (when I say randomizer I mean it was the first one that came to mind xD)

so yeah.. Attack or leave :o xD

Magmabuzz - July 5, 2007 12:53 PM (GMT)
"Sudowoodo," I said, looking at the Magnemite. "This should be a good training opportunity for you. Let's start the battle off with a Low Kick."

"Sudowoodo!" he said with a nod and turned to face Magnemite who continued to float in the air in front of us.

Fire Starter - July 5, 2007 12:59 PM (GMT)
If I am not mistaken low kick causes more damage to heavy pokemon. o.o steel is pretty heavy right? Well at anyrate some good super effective damage there. Nice.

The Magnimite came back quick though with a thunder wave attack. Paralisis :o that sucks... your move :3

Magmabuzz - July 5, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
I sighed. That's not good. "Sudowoodo, use Copycat to copy that Thunderwave. Then see how Magnemite likes a taste of it's own medicine by using Thunderwave on it." Sudowoodo's lack of mobility as it was made it nearly impossible to tell that he was paralyzed without knowing it already. I knew that paralysis could deem one of if not both of the commands useless, so I relied on a bit of luck to get through this round.

Alma Altars - July 5, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
"Sudowoodo!" Sudowoodo shook off the paralysis long enogh to copy and repeat the move.

"Magnemite!!!" Magnemite's eye closed in pain, and it fell to the ground, unable to move. It tried to work up enough energy to attack, but wasn't able to do that, either.

Magmabuzz - July 5, 2007 11:16 PM (GMT)
I smiled. "Great job, Sudowoodo. Try to fight that paralysis off again and use Earthquake while it's still on the ground." Sudowoodo raised it's arm slightly again, indicating he understood the directions I had given him.

Alma Altars - July 5, 2007 11:34 PM (GMT)
The Magnemite trembled at the word Earthquake. It knew its own weaknesses well.

The Ground attack was launched at hit critically! Magnemite barely kept alive. It used a Thunderbolt, but didn't do much damage.

Magmabuzz - July 6, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
"Allright then, Sudowoodo, let's use Low Kick to finish it off and get you a well needed level." I didn't get my hopes up too high, knowing it wasn't a garaunteed win just yet.

Fire Starter - July 6, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
Your sudowoodo gasps in pain and falls to the ground. Trembling with electric backfire.. To bad it was still paralyized right?

The magnimite gets back up and tries to launch an attack.. ... shocking.. Didnt do a thing lol... Paralisis at work.. man.. No one attacks this turn I guess! lol

Magmabuzz - July 6, 2007 09:33 AM (GMT)
I let out a deep breath. "We got lucky you didn't get hit that time, Sudowoodo," I said, wiping my brow to rid of some sweat. "Let's try that Low Kick again, but let's make sure it hits this time."

"Sudowoodo!" With another brief arm raise Sudowoodo faced Magnemite wih a glaring determination.

Fire Starter - July 6, 2007 08:08 PM (GMT)
The randomizer says... It is !Critical! nice job with that low kick!

Magnimite: Checking out!

That's a level gain for sudowoodo! Nice one! *updates* You continue on your merry way when you meet up with a ground type pokemon insted of a Steel type o.O...

Trapinch: Lookeh! A moving tree!!!
Sudowoodo: <_<

It seems that a trapinch would like to battle with you :3 do you accept his friendly challenge? Or shove dirt in its face and run off laughing pathetically at it? The choice, is yours!

Magmabuzz - July 6, 2007 08:15 PM (GMT)
I decide that I'll shove dirt in it's face and run off laughing pathetically at it battle it. But I returned Sudowwodo and released Cacnea to battle instead. "Cacnea, it's been a while hasn't it?"

"Cacnea!"

"Well, I hope you're ready. Start things off with a Needle Arm." Cacnea nodded and raised it's arm in the air, watching as it glowed a bit.

Fire Starter - July 6, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
Ah needle arm, the classic move for a classy pokemon ;) It causes good damage too! Ground type owned. It was still ready to battle though ^.^ and its move of choice happens to be.... A classic sandstorm! Another classy move for another classy pokemon ;).

Kinda useless though. Because cacnea isn't affected by sandstorm :3.

Magmabuzz - July 6, 2007 08:42 PM (GMT)
I grabbed my bag and held it to my face, ducking behind a rock to try to protect myself from the storm. "Cacnea, great job! Looks like you haven't lost a step! Now, use Leech Seed! Follow it up with an Ingrain," I called out into the storm. Cacnea turned and raised an arm, indicating he'd heard the instructions. If Cacnea could continue to heal itself a bit every turn, itwould be able to hold it's own in most battles, so I decided now was a better time than ever to test the strategy.

Hawkstorm - July 6, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
Cacnea began with his shower of seeds, and Trapinch couldn't dodge it :o It begame tangled in a surplus of leaves and vines. At the same time, Cacnea began to sprout roots itself and dig into the earth. Guess you can't return it now O.o

Trapinch, shaking off the shock of being covered, rushed forward and tried to Tackle Cacnea, but clumsily fell over one of the vines x.x Oops! Your move. :3

Magmabuzz - July 7, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
"Excellent. You're doing awesome Cacnea. Now, use Absorb. Then follow it up with another Needle Arm." Cacnea smiled and raised it's arm in the air, followed by a quick announcement of his name. He sat still, ready to suck some of Trapinch's remaining health.

Fire Starter - July 7, 2007 07:39 PM (GMT)
For some reason unbeknownst to us the trapinch went first o.O It disappeared from veiw for a second and reappeared right beside your cacnea. Faint Attack. It hits...(as always :P) Your cacnea took that chance to use the absorb attack. Mmm yummy. Essance of Trapinch..

Your Cacnea healed slightly! Then slammed its arm into trapinch. Trapinch was filled with needles! That is a whole new way to do acupuncture! :o

Trapinch cringes as the vines around it drains its health. Cacnea heals yet again! Then Cacnea rejoices in the juice of the earth. Ingrain heals it yet more!

Magmabuzz - July 7, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
I smiled. This is great, Cacnea. Keep it up. Use another Needle Arm. That should work out quite nicely." Cacnea grinned, very proud of its work as of yet.

Fire Starter - July 8, 2007 01:03 AM (GMT)
The trapinch just looked daggers at you and used a Sand Tomb. Your cacnea is stuck in quicksand! It hurts your pokemon slightly and will continue to hurt it every turn for 5 turns.

The trapinch was hit by the needle arm yet again! Damage.... It was still going strong anyway. At least untill the leech seed took effect. Damage was delt your pokemon heals! Ingrain goes again! Refreshing! More health!

Cacnea sunk deeper in the sand. Thats more damage there!

4 turns left of quicksand. The sandstorm rages on! 3 more turns! (Kinda useless though :3)

Magmabuzz - July 8, 2007 02:52 AM (GMT)
I peeked over the rock to see Cacnea trapped in the tomb. "Cacnea, don't panic. Stay calm and finsih it off quickly with an Absorb. The quicker you finish the quicker you'll be out of the tomb!" Cacnea nodded, indicating he'd heard me.

Silverpelt - July 8, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
(OOC: Lol, Cacnea has more than enough HP now XP)
The Absorb managed to do good damage, gaining a bit of HP. The Tranpinch used Bite, hitting Cacneas arm. Cacnea flinched, unable to attack next turn, but the Leech Seed and Ingrain was still in effect, making Cacnea gain a lot of HP.

Magmabuzz - July 8, 2007 09:39 PM (GMT)
"Cacnea, hang in there and try to dodge it's next attack while you're flinched. The Ingrain will protect you and the leech seed will help a lot too."

Alma Altars - July 9, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
Trapinch used dig, so Canea didn't have to dodge... Yet. Ingrain and Leech Seed helped it with a lot of health. However, because Ingrain was in effect, Cacnea couldn't dodge the Dig attack! No need to worry, though. Ground against Grass means minimal damage.

Magmabuzz - July 9, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
"Cacnea, you'll be just fine." I then came up with an idea. "Cacnea, watch carefully. When you see the dirt move where Trapinch is coming up, try to use Pin Missle on that spot!" I wasn't sure what this would do, but it was an idea I thought I'd try out.

Alma Altars - July 10, 2007 03:29 AM (GMT)
The soil to the left of Cacnea twitched. Cacnea shot its Pins at the spot, softening the dirt so much that Trapinch used too much energy and shot out of the ground too high. It landed on its head and almost fainted.

Magmabuzz - July 10, 2007 03:36 AM (GMT)
Wow, that worked better than I had expected. "Cacnea, finsih the Trapinch off with an Absorb. The Leech Seed will help if Absorb doesn't finish it. Cacnea raised an arm and pronounced his name.

"Cacnea!"

Alma Altars - July 10, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
Trapinch barely held on after the super effective hit, but was taken down by the Absorb. Your Cacnea gained a level. *Updates* You continue on and find a Mawile! Lucky....

Magmabuzz - July 10, 2007 04:37 PM (GMT)
Wow, a Mawile. Those things are pretty good. "Cacnea, I want to try to catch this one, so be careful with it, okay? Firstly, start off with a Low Kick." I hoped that since Mawile wasn't very heavy, it wouldn't do too much damage, just enough to get things started.

Alma Altars - July 13, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
The Low Kick was fantastic! Mawile was hurt so bad it began to cry! No wait! It was a fake Tears attack, meant to reduce Cacnea's stats! It worked! Then, it used a bite! This was a very tricky Pokémon!

Magmabuzz - July 15, 2007 03:05 PM (GMT)
"Cacnea, that worked well enough last time, so try it again. Then use Ingrain; you may need it later in this battle." Cacnea raised both of it's arms in agreement before lunging forward.

Alma Altars - July 25, 2007 04:07 AM (GMT)
(OOC: Finally got around to this... :XD: Sorry!)

The low kick worked just as perfectly as at first! Mawile fell over, and the heavy set of jaws on its head prevented it from getting up. It was hilarious to watch it squirm on the ground as Cacnea planted its roots. It finally got up and tried another bite, not doing much.

Magmabuzz - July 25, 2007 01:39 PM (GMT)
(OOC: That's okay)

"Cacnea, use Brick Break on Mawile now." As Cacnea prepared the attack, I readied an empty pokeball in my head, preparing to toss it at Mawile should it get weak enough.

Alma Altars - July 25, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
The brick break attack was launched and hit perfectly! A critical hit! Mawile took so much damage from the attack, it nearly fainted! It managed to hold on, though, and used a Fire Fang! It did super effective damage. Luckily Cacnea wasn't burned and didn't flinch.

Magmabuzz - July 26, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
Mawile looks pretty weak. Maybe I can catch it now. I grasped the pokeball that was in my hand and launched it at Mawile. Cacnea stepped back, hoping just as much as I was that the capture would be a success.

Fire Starter - July 28, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)
The mawile was caught without much of a fight good for you. Female and level uh.. o.o 9 ish? xD You update because I am lazy ;-;

Magmabuzz - July 28, 2007 04:24 PM (GMT)
(One Mawile added and one pokeball subtracted.)

I watched as the pokeball disappeared, headed to my PC. "Great job, Cacnea!" Cacnea smiled, and we continued through the gorge.

Fire Starter - August 4, 2007 01:45 PM (GMT)
bam! Attacked again! (wow there are like.. so few steel types :<) This time it was a.. Piplup .. yup <.< that is what I said. Piplup. It's evo is part steel. (and I cant think of anything anyway) xD

Magmabuzz - August 6, 2007 03:59 PM (GMT)
"Cacnea, you've had enough battling for now. You chould take a rest." I returned Cacnea and released Electabuzz. "Electabuzz, use Thunderpunch on that Piplup!" Electabuzz nodded, rubbing his fists together.

CodeRed - August 11, 2007 04:02 AM (GMT)
The Piplup screamed in fear, turned around, and ran for it's little life! Electabuzz began to run after the little Piplup. The Piplup is now crying as it trips and falls. Electabuzz is now overtop of Piplup. Piplup, still crying, readys it's fate. Do you stop Electabuzz?
