Title: Pranks and Links to bad sites
Treecko - November 27, 2006 09:41 PM (GMT)
I noticed here at Dragonairs Den that some have siggies with pure pranks in them. I am not saying names but they say, The BEST pokemon Site EVER! leading to the brain-eating zombie thing. Taht is NOT nice. It should be banned, I think it should be a rule of InvisionFree!!
I am MAD that there are prankers wandering about Dragonairs Den.
I would appreciate it if you take the pranks out of your siggies, you-people-who-have-pranks-in-your-siggies. I am surprised you still post pranks after your InvisionFree experience!
Best of thouhgts,
Treecko

SURE... no names mentioned...
And whats wrong with the zombie thing? It's only for a bit of a luagh, and to see how many people you can fool. I personally see nothing wrong with them. You think the zombie things bad, I've been linked to a webstie with an endless cycle of pop-ups. THAT is called a prank.
And why can't we stop worrying about this, and instead worry about the onsluaght of spammers who insist on breaking the rules.
Treecko - November 27, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)
Never mind, then, if your opinion is bad against mine.
I have proof that people think, even Admins on .com sites, think it is stupid and mean!

And I'm not saying you don't, but this is my opinion, and that is theirs. I don't see anything wrong with it.
lopfot - November 27, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
But some idiots who like to spread viruses and stuff MAY put infected stuff in their siggy.

Not all kids are old enough and their parents may ground them or even keep them from getting on the internet if they find their kids on websites like those. It may be a harmless prank to you or me, but it may not be appropriate to other people.
lopfot - November 28, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)
That is true as well. Yea sure there are the zombie things but what if someone puts a dirty link? MY DAD WOULD FREAK!

Alright... I understand that... but I (and several others) are linking you to the zombie thing. Ok, you can get banned for doing 'dirty links', but many people are already! (Trying to sell me medicine, etc.)

lol, someone gave me a program they coded at school which continously opened and closed itself, and couldn't be stopped without restarting your PC
anyway, back on topic: *clicks Charizard's siggy*
I don't mind, but I understand if others do...Personally, I don't use them, but I used to once (I took it off because no one clicked)
W.T. - November 28, 2006 10:29 AM (GMT)
My advice: If any topic in the games forum has a picture of a smiley face on the left, and the person who posted it has an unusual name that is not one of our regular visitors, never open it, and NEVER CLICK ON ANY OF THE LINKS! They probably lead to Virus-Filled Databases. (V.F.D., lol!)
In the past, these topics were merely locked, but as they are more serious now than they used to be, they are deleted ASAP after they come out.

It's ab it off topic, but my friend once created a prgram that opens and closes the CD drive at will, and it's almost impossible to stop (you have to know what you are doing, like me, or restart your computer).
It's quite funny to leave my computer to a friend of mine with that turned on lol.
Anyways, oh and love the VFD (it's easier to create words with them initials then you'd think lol)
Anyway's, BACK ON TOPIC, and err... I forgot what I was going to say. Oh yeah! Can I ask whether we're directing the conversation at my particuar siggy, or pranks in general?
lopfot - November 28, 2006 11:00 PM (GMT)
I'd say pranks in general. I am trying to find out how to code one of them endless pop-up sites for my friend. He honestly will keep clicking ok if the first one says "I'll stop hitting on your girlfriend if you get to the end of these." Lol. inside joke...
But honestly. I find some of them fun but some of them are just annoying! My friend sent me one that made a pop-up come up that alerted you to a virus that had just infected your somputer. If you press ok the same one comes up. You had to click 25 times to get it to go away.
The repeated pop-up ones like the THIS in my siggy you can just hold enter. Mine is just a way to get rid of spammers. Kinda.
Fire Starter - November 30, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
lopfot I have the code if you want it :) I use it on my site Muah :)
lopfot - November 30, 2006 10:15 PM (GMT)
I took mine off. I find it kinda immature now. I recieved a virus from a site(it's okay thouigh i ran a double-scan on my computer and its gone) and it tried to spread to other people through MSN.

Back off topic: A friend created one that loops a function which prints a page of paper that says "You've been hacked. LOL"
When I say loops, I mean loops. Forever. VB Syntax:
Do
(print fuction)
Loop
XD
lopfot - November 30, 2006 10:35 PM (GMT)
off topic: Nice! What if you don't have a printer.... All I'm saying is thatit'd be hard to make something like that.
On topic: Yes some can be funny. My big brother's friend made one that opens a bunch of woedpad documents that say "LOL! I'M IN YOUR COMPUTER!"
But some can be bad like the one i got...

I think your comp freezes, looking for one. Either that of it just crashes XD
Joan - December 1, 2006 09:07 PM (GMT)
I don't have a problem with the zombie thing. As has already been said, it's just for a laugh. Some people might find it annoying, but it's harmless. But if someone is linking to an inappropriate site, I want to know about that so I can remove it.
Wildfire - December 1, 2006 10:13 PM (GMT)
Hmm... Treecko, do you think my siggy is dumb?
Never mind, someone deleted it...

Yay! The wonderful Joaneh (why am I calling her Joaneh?), err.. Joan agrees with me!
I, although I can't really talk, hate websites (like whats lopfots was) that endlessly loop.
Hei-Ying-Shih - December 2, 2006 10:22 PM (GMT)
Yes, and the URL of the zombie site is pretty easy to recognize, so you can just mouseover and then not click. Maybe we should assign someone to patrol siggies while the RPG's down...
Obbydobby - December 3, 2006 03:38 AM (GMT)
Wow! That was smart. Giving out a link that leads to a bad thing on a kids site! What the hell were you thinking, you knew you were giving it out... *Suppi sighs... Link taken off

jolteon - December 14, 2006 03:56 PM (GMT)
I know everyone will kill me for saying this, but I really hate the violation reports forum. I mean, ever since we got that thing, spam has overflowed, as if the spammers find it amusing  . And we haven't gotten just spam, we've gotten dirty spam. Just my opinion. ^_^
Silverpelt - December 18, 2006 05:49 AM (GMT)
Jolteon, I find that the number and dirtyness of the spammers and spam topic has remained unchanged than before. It is quite annoying though, I normally delete a topic before checking Violation Reorts. x_x
Aeron - December 18, 2006 07:20 AM (GMT)
Honestly the Zombie thing is quite harmless, but there are ways to avoid these types of websites with out clicking on the link.
When you hover over the link, your browser usually shows the link, and also if you right click the link, and then click propoties then it will show you the URL.
The Zombie website always begins with a keven.org/blah/blah/blah.
Invisionfree, Pokemon and Nintendo Fan Sites are usually trusted sites.
Anything with Po** in its URL it obviously a Po** sute
