Title: Limiting the Number of Members
Magmabuzz - October 23, 2006 09:48 PM (GMT)
Is there any way you can limit the number of members that can join a site?

You mean, not let any more register?
On Admin CP, click Security and Privacy on the side bar thingy. Look for "Disable new registerations" and check Yes or No.
What do you mean?
You can use COPPA, so Admins can validate people if they want.

Unless you mean what Treecko has posted, no, there is no current way to limit the number of members joining your site.

To answer your question Treecko, I mean let's say my site has 1000 members. I don't wnat anymore to join because it would be to difficult to keep up with them all. Is there anyway to prevent any more from joining.

What Treecko says is true, and I don't think there is any other way..besides, your site only has 82 members XD

Same thing. Not letting anymore register!
Or, you can use COPPA and validate the people who want to join or delete them or leave them.

I know I have less thatn 100, its just that I wouldn't want the site to have too many members because it would be too hard to keep up with them. Thanks for your help.

Well no offence, but an easier way to keep up would be to employ more mods.

I highly doubt that.
Anyhow, members come and go, it's highly unlikely you'll have 1000 ACTIVE members at once o.o;; Out of the 830+ members I have, about half (400-ish) actually posted at least once, and a handful (like about 60 or so) are active on a bi weekly basis.

I just don't want to get into a position like Dragonair's Den. You can see that they were having trouble keep up with all of the members.

Yeah, I'm in a similar situation, but with a quarter of the members (and a quarter of everything else. Coincidence, eh?)
