Title: Flareon's Alarm Clock...
Description: Didn't go off on time
flareon - July 25, 2006 09:46 AM (GMT)
Flareon woke up around midday, the sun blaring in her eyes from her open window as her mother shot the curtains open. "Ugh, Moom!"
"Oh, Dear! I didn't realize you were still here! Haven't you any idea of the time? It's after 1 pm. Get up already!" She yanked the blankets, then upturned the bed when she continued to refuse, waking her up alot more.
"You CAN'T be serious!" She picked up her clock and noted the funky off buzzing sound it made when it was between two settings, even if it did look like it was on. "OH CRAP! YOU COULD'A WOKE ME UP EARLIER!" She rushed into her outfit and got her stuff ready, woke up the little Mareep she'd had sleeping in a chair just the other side of the room, and headed downstairs for a makeshift breakfast of toast and her father's lunch. (He was looking for his keys and was gonna miss it anyways.) "THANKS FOR BREAKFAST DAD!" She called, hearing her dad complain about his missing keys. "CHECK YOUR BREAST POCKET FROM YESTERDAY'S SHIRT!" And she was out the door, hearing a small 'Thank you' following her, followed shortly by a 'HEY! GET BACK HERE WITH MY MEAL!', which she couldn't hear over the increasing distance as Mars and Reaper headed into the forest of weeping willows. For some reason, Mars had always felt comfortable here, it was quiet and peaceful most of the time.
She inhaled deeply, eyes closed, and enjoyed the fresh air, then exhaled and danced for a moment in the joy before starting off. "It's nice here, huh Reap?"

An aggressive looking :spearow: struts up to Mareep and stares at her eye to eye. It doesn't seem to be intimidated by the fact that Mareep is electric and itself is part flying.

I stared at the little Spearow and its gutsy attitude. "Aren't spearow the kind of pokemon to AVOID conflicts and kick butt when they can't avoid them?" But Reaper had questions of her own, and decided to take them out in an aggressive manner herself.
"Reeep...." she growled at the bird, preparing to perform a tackle as she backed up. I simply stared, knowing Reaper could handle it by herself, maybe with just a little help from the outside. "Maaaarrrsss" Reaper said. I stepped back in surprise, not having known Mareep could hiss in the first place, but gave an affirmative to control the battle on her own as the promotional skitty i'd signed up for arrived at my belt with a beep from my pokedex.
"Come on out, James." I said, calling the skitty out to meet him and put him on my shoulder. "Well aren't we a nice looking little skitty? Very handsome. You know I've already got a name-" I trailed off as I moved to find a tree to lean on to talk to the skitty. I knew Reaper would be fine, and I kept an eye on her to be sure, as she performed the tackle, aimed directly at the little bird. "I'm Mars. Do you think you'll like it with us? Ooh, Reaper's really getting into it. Wanna watch?"
"Skit!" he called happily, and watched the Mareep leap into her tackle. I watched as well, to ensure that Reaper wouldn't need too much assistance.

Surskit side-steps out of the way, avoiding the attack completely. One attack later leaves Mareep pecked, but receiving minor damage all the same. Spearow is winning, but barely, and Mareep has advantage. And the battle is still young.

Mareep tried to dodge, but wasn't fast enough and just leapt into another tackle anyways, performing a growl just before. I pulled out the potion I'd gotten with my starter pack as a 'just in case' reassurance and kept it out of sight from the mareep so she wouldn't think i'd lost hope. I began chanting quietly from the sideliines for Reaper and James joined me with his softest Mew, calling gently with me in a matching tempo that i kept low so as not to be distracting.

(It was just a typing mistake which a person makes when one is in a hurry. I apologise for the mistake made by one of our mods.)
Mareep growled at the top of its voice, but nothing seemed to have happened to that spearow as it was flying in the air just as it used to do. However, the tackle worked quite well as it dod some descent damage on the spearow, which now seemed to be having a difficult time flying in the air. Without thinging of its damages, the spearow leapt at mareep using a tackle which also did some moderate damage. So you...

(I wasn't trying to make anyone feel bad, and I apologize if i did.)
~You GO girl! You got 'im! Keep at it!~ James and I loudened our chanting to become a dull thrum above the Spearow's beating wings, cheering her on, while trying to keep as unobtrusive in the battle as possible.

Spearow landed in a tree and watched Reaper before entering a dive and pecking the mareep the second time Spearow had dove for Reaper the Mareep sidestepped and Spearow hit the ground hard and had a hard time getting on his feet but could not fly into the air.

~Yess!!!~ I had the biggest mental smile possible posted on my face. I stuck my hand in my bag and traded the potion for a pokeball, but I didn't bring it out until Reaper made eye contact with me. I enlarged the ball, as was protocol, and stepped up behind the spearow, tapping its head with the button on the ball. "Call you Stir-fry and give you Ash." 'Maaaarrrzz...' "... Oh, wait... Call you Ash and give you stir-fry. My bad." I watched as the red light engulfed the little bird and waited, my palm open, for captivity to be accepted or rejected.
