Title: Plagiarism

I just want to point out that it's against the rules to copy anything that anyone has posted here and use it on your own site without permission. This isn't just my rule; it's one of Invisionfree's rules. It's in the Terms of Service that you agreed to when you signed up here (or any other Invisionfree site).

So basically, just don't copy and paste anything posted here without permission from the person who wrote it, and be sure to give them credit for it. ^_^

I get a lot of questions about what does or does not count as plagiarism, so here's a basic list to help clear up some confusion. If you're still unsure about something, ask me.

Things you can use without my permission and without giving me credit:
  • The Skin (Fallen: Hesitance)
I had no part in creating the skin, and it does not belong to me. It is available at the Invisionfree Skin Zone for anyone to use.
  • Profile Setup
The format we use for RPG profiles (Pokemon name, type, level, gender, etc.).
  • Invisionfree codes
Such as the codes for the announcement box, affiliates/topsites box, and member key. I'm not smart enough to write useful codes. ^^; They were created by someone at Invisionfree. The writers of the codes deserve all the credit.
Things you must get permission for and give credit:
  • Certain forum names
Smeargle's Studio, plus all forums in the RPG section (from Professor Melinda's Lab to Dragonair's Den) except the Pokemon Centers and Pokemarts.
  • Dragonair's Den
Obviously I don't want anyone copying the name of my site.
  • The rules
Only when copied word for word. If you use the same ideas for rules but put them in your own words, that's fine and you won't need to get permission or give credit for that.
  • Art and custom sprites
Do not copy any art/custom sprites that are posted unless: 1) you have permission from the creator, or 2) the creator says that anyone can use them. By "custom" sprites, I mean any sprites that are different from the ones you'd find in the Pokemon video games.
  • The Neodex Pokemon
Again, you'll need permission from their creator if you want to use them. You do not need my permission unless I am the creator.
